Parriwi is capable of running well here
NEW SOUTH WALES
SR 2: Obvious trial to note is the Canterbury heat win by Hussonet colt (6) TATRA as he beat subsequent Breeders Plate winner Pierro over 900m on 19 September. Trainer Gerald Ryan has enjoyed great success with the Snitzel breed and he has two obvious early comers here in trial winners (7) BRILLIANT SNITZEL and (15) CORDELIA. They both won heats over 900m in heavy going at Rosehill on 29 September with Brilliant Snitzel running much better time.
SR 3-4 PARRIWI (Kris Lees): Newcastle mare Parriwi has good wining form when first-up and she may not be far off the mark for her return after a close up third in a recent 800m trial at Broadmeadow.
SR 5: The resuming (4) CABERNET looked well forward in condition running to the line freely to win a Randwick trial over 1050m on 20 September. Newcastle-trained (14) LOST FOR WORDS showed she was on track for a good comeback after a long enforced spell by winning a 900m trial at Broadmeadow on the same day.
SR 7: No risk the classy (1) PURENESS is on song for a big first-up showing after excellent trials. Given a good test when he beat top grade My Kingdom Of Fife in his latest trial win over 1200m at Randwick on 20 September. Several others resuming have trialled well including (12) SCOTTISH BORDER off a Rosehill 900m win in the heavy on 29 September.
SR 8-8 EREWHON (Peter Snowden): Last year's Spring Champion winner hasn't raced for a year and after two trials in the Autumn was put out again and had two more in September. He's a nice horse.
VICTORIA
MR 4-6 BLACK CAVIAR (Peter Moody): Just putting her in here because she is apparently flying yet again and her jump out which many have seen was breathtaking.
QUEENSLAND
BR 4-2 LISTEN SON (Tony Gollan): With a stable in form, he has had two winning trials at Doomben to be prepared first up. He ran a cracker in the Stradbroke from the front and loves to race on pace.
BR 4-4 FILLYDELPHIA (Robert Heathcote): Last campaign she got all the way to the Qld Oaks after winning the Rough Habit against the boys. She might be vulnerable on resumption but watch for her late after running fourth in her Doomben trial.
BR 8-9 AUDACIOUS SPIRIT (Gillian Heinrich): Trotted in with a barrier trial at Doomben in a small field. He handles all sorts of going, can go fresh and looks well in this race.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA
AR 3: (3) PORTICI beat stablemate (2) LITTLE CRITTER in a Murray Bridge Trial recently but the latter has the stable rider aboard and is a half to Chakvetadze. In the same race (4) RAPPERS DELIGHT won a Tatura trial and is a half to good Adelaide galloper Tramuntana while (5) ALEZAN THUNDER won her trial over (6) FOREST CAT on the Parks track recently. Betting will be interesting.
AR 6-9 HOT LOVER (Matthew Seyers): Half to Moment In Time, has won two trials quite well recently. Drawn the inside here and expected to run a forward race.
