MERCHANDISE (Chris Waller) - Yet another Waller trained import who looks ready to make his mark in Sydney. Had support when starting his second local campaign at Rosehill last Saturday and not surprisingly ran home in great style from last to finish third over 1600m. The summer staying races should be ideal.

Jason Hickson

MANIGHAR (Luca Cumani) - Turned in an eye catching run in the Caulfield Cup, awkwardly placed on the inside before getting home to fourth. Looks to be going every bit as well as he was last year. Looks an each-way Melbourne Cup prospect again.

GALAH (Peter Snowden) - He was tipped in the magazine on the weekend and got a surprising price in the end. He reeled off great sectionals to come from last. Surely better suited in the Carbine Club and Sandown Guineas. His 115 Rating was much better than that which Kidnapped returned in the same race two years ago for the same stable.

Alex Steedman

ALBERT THE FAT (Chris Waller) - Ran an absolute cracker late behind Love Conquers All last weekend and has put some very good form together without winning. He just needs to find a race where he gets last call on a horse not too far in front. That could be on Derby day in the Salinger or the 1400m G3 event.

Dean Croker

DOWAGER QUEEN (Graeme/Debbie Rogerson) - How could you miss the run of the Savabeel filly in the Ethereal. Bad luck cost her the race. Only drama is she will run into Atlantic Jewel in the Wakeful but there is no certainty any horse will the trip but she seems to have been set for those two races on Cup week whereas the other on runs in after thought races.

TULLAMORE (Gai Waterhouse) - Of the Caulfield Cup runners, he's the one I'd want to be on in the Melbourne Cup. He looks an out and out two miler, properly set for the race with Gai aiming her targets more at the Melbourne Spring. Remember he gets better with racing, was likely outsprinted turning yet battled on superbly for third. It produced his best rating and watch out in the big one.

DUNADEN (Mikel Delzangles) - Many get seduced by the Geelong Cup form given its past record but it was hard not to be impressed with the run. Compared to last year he ran the same time as Americain, carried the same weight as American and comes off not similar lead up races. Before the defending runs again in the MV Cup, it might be worth taking the price for Flemington.
