NEW SOUTH WALES

SR 1: Gai Waterhouse has setting a hot pace with her youngsters this season and rolls out another smart pair in the superbly bred (6) NO LOOKING BACK and (2) BLAZING SNITZEL. They were matched in an 850m trial on the Kensington track on 4 November with No Looking Back doing best in a close finish. Hard to split them on trial form but they will be kept honest by (7) RECESS, trained on the track and coming off a sharp 800m trial win here on 15 November in fast time. (8) STAR PASS also debuts off a solid Rosehill trial win while David Hayes sends (5) INFINITE FORTUNE straight to Sydney off a Tatura trial second.

SR 2-1 MIKIYAMA (Chris Waller): Promising stayer Mikiyama showed up when third in a 900m trial at Rosehill on 8 November. Taking on 1600m first-up should be suitable.

SR 4-2 NEXT THE UNIVERSE (Kris Lees): Looks a good first-up chance off a Newcastle 800m trial win on 25 October. Scratched midweek for this race.

SR 5-4 SHAWNEE GIRL (Chris Waller): Last start winner gets the familiar Chris Waller program with his staying types of a Rosehill trial win over 1030m on 8 November.

SR 6: Big fresh run expected from classy gelding (5) SCARF as he will be all the better for his easy third in a Rosehill 900m trial on 8 November. (6) TROMSO followed up his first-up pacing with a strong third in 1030m trial at Rosehill on the same day and he will be close to his peak for this. (15) KONTIKI PARK is good fresh and he's had the grounding with a 1250m trial win on the Kensington track on 4 November.

SR 7: (1) BACK ON TOP looked forward when he won 800m Warwick Farm trial on 31 October but the easy fourth of (6) SO SO SURE in the same heat was also a strong pointer to his first-up prospects. (8) PARRIWI was out of luck last start and looks to be in the right form judging by her Gosford trial win on 7 November. (15) SKATEBOARD has talent and will be improved by his second in 900m Rosehill heat on 25 October.

SR 8: (11) RIDING TO WIN had a Kensington trial win over 850m and it was an obvious pointer to his first-up chances while (8) TRAUMA had a solid hit out when second to Kontiki Park in a 1250m heat on the same day. Not a lot was asked of (1) ANYTHING, (3) SUPERIOR INSTINCT and (4) HONEST LIES in their recent trials.

VICTORIA

MR 8-6 GENERAL TRUCE (Ricky Maund): The very consistent 4yo comes off a Cranbourne Trial this week. He rarely runs a bad race and two runs here were seconds behind Bel Sprinter and Kulgrinda.

QUEENSLAND

BR 5-4 CATASHEE (Darren Bell): Was having a nice campaign with two wins in three runs, both here at Doomben. She has since had a let up with a clean out trial on 8 November and looks well placed here.

BR 6-15 TICKET TO DREAM (Steven O'dea): Despite a shocking draw, she comes back from a spell off a second in a trial with nice chance on Saturday. Her two provincial runs were very sound.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

AR 2-8 WHITTEN'S DELIGHT (Tony McEvoy): The only one to have trialled publicly of these youngsters but it was a good trial, winning over 900m at Murray Bridge. Expected to run a forward race here.

AR 3-5 MISS DEBRA (Paul Seater): Handy mare resuming but has trialled well at Murray Bridge, winning over 900m. Drawn for a good run and looks a strong chance in an open race.

AR 4-1 MA SHANG (Paula Trenwith): Ex Victorian via Perth, this 7yo has had a recent trial at Murray Bridge running second. His best is over further but in a new environment and if they can run on, he might be one to watch here and in coming weeks.
