SELECTIONS

Randwick Race 1 - 7 Black Revolver

Anticipating that this gelding will kick start another big day for the Chris Waller stable after his strong effort at Rosehill last Saturday when third to Reflectance over 1400m at his first start for a month.

The return of James McDonald as his rider is significant due to his winning record on the horse and he should relish the seven day back up with 2kg less in this average company in view of the way he thrived on hard racing through July and August, the proviso being that that he gets a track rated no worse than dead.

Randwick Race 4 - 4 Winx

Exciting filly puts her unbeaten record on the line but cannot go against her in view of the way she accounted for these same rivals with such authority at level weights when resuming in the Furious Stakes (1200m) at this course two weeks ago. She may have been flattered by the seriously heavy conditions but she was so strong through the line when the consensus was she would need the run that her win must be viewed as a defining changing of the pecking order in the fillies ranks.

Randwick Race 5 - 1 Moriarty

Love the way this honest Group performer has come back to racing with two terrific efforts in shorter races on unsuitable heavy tracks to fit him well for a race that lacks WFA depth. He boasts excellent track and distance credentials and is ready to hit form on the expected better ground in a very winnable race for a genuine class act. Great value for a G1 placed winner of six Group or Listed races who has raced in nothing less than black type company in his last 25 starts.

BLACKBOOK UPDATE from September 13 (Rosehill & Flemington)

Martian - Promising import will get better as distances increase.

Neena Rock - Terrific Australian debut. Good mare.

Onerous - Did his best work late at just his second start. Bright future.

Fawkner - Cracker effort first-up against fitter rivals. He’s back.

Zebulon - Fine third after a poor start. Classy prospect.
