After unearthing Stirling last weekend, leading trainer Laurie Laxon looks to have turned out another promising type in Rathausglockel.
Ridden by Ravindra Rueven, the son of Pins proved too good for his rivals, showcasing a good turn of foot to win the second event on Friday night.
Bred in New Zealand, Rauthausglockel overcame a tough run, when forced three-wide passing the 800m.
Continuing his wide run on straightening, Rathausglockel hit the front passing the 200m, before holding off the late charge of the Leticia Dragon trained Fortune Winner.
Although not an extensive margin, the manner in which Rathausglockel won, along with the overall time - gave a good push for the strength of the performance.
Comparatively, Rathausglockel recorded the quickest time and was marked five-and-a-half lengths quicker than the other 1000m race on the night (race 4).
With eight out of the possible 10 starters on debut, it can be difficult to get a strong hold on where the form sits - however this race does tie in well with the second and third placegetters.
The extensive margin back to fourth (five lengths) also helps confirm the level of the performance.
Although not rated as high as Stirling, Rathausglockel appears open to good improvement with the race experience under his belt.
In a similar mould to Stirling, Rathausglockel is bred to be better over further and could be seen over a mile in the future.
Off a mark of 55, he is likely to be seen in Class 4 company at his next outing and should acquit himself well.
