Chris Scholtz - Early Thoughts
R&S Contributing Editor Chris Scholtz takes a look at tomorrow’s Sydney racing.
SELECTIONS
Expecting good improvement off his first Sydney start over 1800m at this course on September 12 when he found the line late after getting little opportunity to be fully tested.
That effort points to him relishing the step up to 2000m and chances will be boosted by rain going on his winning form in Adelaide on soft tracks. Definitely the value bet in this field as he meets rivals from two weeks ago on better terms.
Rosehill Race 3 - 5 Bohemian Lily
Ready to strike the excellent form she displayed in her first Australian campaign in April and May that ended with her resounding Group 2 win in the Doomben Roses over 2020m.
She has needed her two recent starts and the quick back up will suit after she held her ground well in the slow lane at Randwick last Saturday to be beaten just two lengths in a much stronger G2 Hill Stakes under WFA conditions.
After some indifferent performances he really got his act together last time at Warwick Farm, circling the field from the 600m to beat older horses with authority over 1600m.
Rates highly off that effort coming back to his own age and has the strength to go on with it getting out to 1800m.
