Chris Scholtz - Early Thoughts
R&S Contributing Editor Chris Scholtz takes a look at tomorrow’s Sydney racing.
SELECTIONS
Randwick Race 4 - 7 Better Not Blue
Well placed to improve on a strong first-up second to Dream Choice over this course and distance when making ground from the back half.
Smart move to use 3kg apprentice as he will meet the winner 2.5kg better and the return of the rain on Thursday can only enhance his prospects.
Randwick Race 7 - 7 Mr Manhattan
Far too good for a midweek field over 1000m at Warwick Farm when resuming, making light of 59kg to take his record to three wins from only six starts.
This class should not be a problem as he holds much greater scope for improvement than his rivals nor should a soft track after recording his first two wins on affected ground.
I have been waiting patiently for this promising Les Bridge-trained mare to get into a suitable 1400m race.
She’s been right out of luck in shorter races - especially last time over 1100m at Canterbury - since starting her current prep with a provincial win and she should relish this trip on her bigger home track.
Has done enough on affected tracks to make her a worthy gamble at good odds in a tough race.
