Front Page Special For Saturday 10 November 2018
Flemington Race 8 - 3 Blair House - In what shapes a somewhat weak renewal of the Mackinnon Stakes, it does look ripe for the picking for another Godolphin raid via Blair House.
Consider they’ve won the Caulfield Stakes (Benbatl), Caulfield Cup (Best Solution) and the Melbourne Cup (Cross Counter) along with the Sir Rupert Clarke (Jungle Cat) just for some icing on a very fat cake.
Add in all of James Cummings triumphs over the last few weeks and you get the picture that the Melbourne Spring has been a sea of blue.
Blair House was a part of that being a nose second to Benbatl and the month between runs will pose little issue. His Jebel Hatta win at Meydan in March saw him beat that very galloper home.
He looks to lob into a lovely spot, probably racing just off Trap For Fools and having too much dash for the various Derby winners engaged.
Can’t believe we are getting black figures and who knows, the bookies may even let us on for some blue carnival capers.
