Wakefield has notched two wins and a third with Nuptse and Pretty Composed from their three starts in Sydney in the last four weeks.

The shrewd trainer made the decision to venture south with the pair because he felt Sydney offered more options for mares of their class at this time of the year.

The move paid off when Nupste won at Rosehill on October 22, her second Sydney win after she had been successful at Warwick Farm on her first interstate trip in January.

Nuptse followed upon her Rosehill win with a third at Randwick on November 5 before the unbeaten Pretty Composed was a heavily supported winner at her Sydney debut at Warwick Farm on November 9.

The Sydney campaign has netted over $70,000 prizemoney for the Wakefield stable and there is much more on offer on Saturday with the dual nominated Nuptse favoured to start in a BM 85 (1000m) and Pretty Composed aiming to make it four wins in succession in the latter race.

"There seems to be more variety of fillies and mares races compared to home," Wakefield said.

"We'll probably be heading home on Monday or Tuesday.

"I would like to think Pretty Composed is a black type mare and the same goes with Nuptse.

"Pretty Composed is above average but she has got to get everything right race-wise.

"She seems to be really enjoying her time down here, it's done her the world of good just being in a different environment.

"I know she travels well now and down the track I might even take her to Melbourne."

Wakefield already has Nuptse pencilled in for a Listed race over 1200m in Brisbane on December 3.

Nathan Berry will continue his association with Nuptse while his brother Tommy retains the ride on Pretty Composed.

Wakefield hopes his mares will also provide some consolation for the recent loss of one of his favourite horses after stable stalwart Frosty died from colic.
