Racing and Sports have scanned the stewards’ reports to find the key information punters need to know from Australian racing on Wednesday August 3.

Warwick Farm:

Pittsburgh (Race 1): the colt, which was found to have blood in its mouth behind the barriers, was examined by the Club's Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to start. For some distance shortly after the start raced in restricted room between Onslaught and Kings Of Leon, which shifted out slightly.

Coonawarra (Race 1): rider R Hutchings advised the colt never handled the heavy track conditions at any stage. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Gracious Grey (Race 2): rider C Reith advised the filly never handled the heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Consented (Race 3): when laying out rounding the home turn was briefly crowded for room by Shelley's Girl (App. T Marshall), which shifted in slightly. App. Marshall was advised to exercise more care. Rider J Collett advised, whilst the gelding was able to lead, it was always at its top and in his view never travelled comfortably in the track conditions and laid out rounding the turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding lost its near-fore plate.

Rolston (Race 4): inclined to lay in in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be coughing.

Happy Snitzel (Race 4): slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off-hind fetlock.

Perizada (Race 5): began awkwardly. Rider T Berry advised that in his view the mare may have got its tongue over the bit and consequently did not finish the race off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off-hind fetlock. Co-trainer Mr J Nisbet indicated that they will experiment with the gear of the mare for its next race start. Mr Nisbet also undertook to report back on the progress of Perizada in the days subsequent.

Art 'n' Ollie (Race 5): rider J Collett explained that the mare was under pressure, never travelled throughout and consequently weakened from the 300m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off-hind pastern.

Sweet Kiss (Race 6): rider P Wells advised the mare never handled the very heavy track conditions. He added Sweet Kiss blundered rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be displaying cardiac arrhythmia and had sustained a laceration to the off-fore pastern. Co-trainer Ms A Turner was advised that a full veterinary clearance, including the results of an ECG, would be required prior to the mare trialling to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

Mr Darcy (Race 7): slow to begin. Briefly held up on the heels of Rosettas Whey passing the 200m when that runner shifted in slightly.

Granite Belt (Race 7): rider K McEvoy advised the gelding never handled the very heavy track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Aldesaar (Race 7): rider T Angland advised that the gelding, which was up in weight and distance, did not handle the heavy track conditions and failed to run on. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.
