Mornington trainer David Brideoake is looking forward to a bigger and stronger Princess Jenni tackling Group One company in her return run at Caulfield.

Princess Jenni is one of 21 nominations for the Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday with Brideoake saying everything was on the table for the mare this campaign.

A Group One winner of the Australasian Oaks (2000m) at Morphettville as a three-year-old, Princess Jenni went on to finish sixth in the 2019 Queensland Oaks (2200m).

Princess Jenni was not over-taxed last season and enters her five-year-old season having won five of her 14 starts, but Brideoake is looking to give the mare a harder workload this spring.

Princess Jenni has already been nominated for the Cox Plate (2040m) at The Valley on October 24 and Brideoake said the mare would be among nominations for the Caulfield Cup (2400m) on October 17 when they close on Thursday.

"If all the stars were to align, the Cox Plate would be a definite possibility," Brideoake said.

"She loves The Valley, she's very good at The Valley with a good record there, so it would be nice if we could get there.

"You have to line up against all the A-graders, but I believe she is an A-grader.

"I think she's so much thicker and more mature this time around as she's carrying quite a bit more weight for her return, but I can't fault the way she's come back."

Brideoake said Princess Jenni had performed solidly in a couple of Mornington jump-outs and was ready for her first-up assignment on Saturday.

"She's going in off a couple of nice, positive trials and we usually start her off at that seven furlong trip, so we'll be starting off on Saturday,"Brideoake said.

"I would say we'll go from here to the Makybe Diva (at Flemington on September 12), but that really depends on how she goes.

"There's all sorts of options going through the spring and if she shows she's up to the A-graders, that's really good, but if she's not that's OK too, we can lower our sights a bit.

"But the way she's come up, I think she will be in for a pretty good preparation."

The final field for Melbourne's first Group One race of the spring will be declared on Wednesday.
