Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 12.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Muswellbrook, Nowra, Beaudesert and Pakenham Synthetic.
MUSWELLBROOK: RACE 3 @ 2:35 PM
BEHIND THE STORM (8) racing well in town in Highway grade and looks placed to advantage today in this contest. Up in trip and had to work hard from the wide gate in the heavy going when eighth over 1800m at Randwick on July 27. Due for a change of luck and saves his best for this track. BERTIE (4) getting better with age and chasing his third-straight victory today. Found plenty late when a nose winner over 1400m at Taree on July 23. Maps to get the right run again in this stronger event. BORROWED LUCK (7) trained on the track and has a good record over this course and distance. Bumped into some handy types when a disappointing eighth over 1550m at Randwick Kensington in BM72 grade on July 17. Should race closer today and figure prominently. GOLDEN HONOUR (5) racing in a rich vein of form and anchored with the 60kg when a plodding fourth over 1450m at Kempsey on July 30. Maps well with the claim and looks up to this stronger contest.
SELECTIONS: Behind The Storm to win.

NOWRA: RACE 1 @ 1:05 PM
SOHO SUSHI (4) finds the maiden win elusive but it certainly hasn't been without trying. Gave backers another bold sight last start at Bathurst, only to be captured on the line. Should be hitting her peak now and looks the one to beat. WATCH YA BACK (8) didn't fire in her maiden prep, only having the one start. Looks to have progressed nicely during the break on the back of a solid trial in readiness. Could give this a big shake fresh. LERINKA (3) was no match for an impressive winner last start at the Sapphire Coast but still did a good job to fill the frame. Further improvement anticipated third-up. In the mix. BOMBELLEISTIC (6) is a Bon Hoffa gelding stepping out on debut. Found the line nicely in sole lead-up trial. Will pay to watch what the market does with him.
SELECTIONS: Soho Sushi to win.
BEAUDESERT: RACE 4 @ 2:42 PM
PRIVATE TENDER (2) has put together a couple of solid runs lately, including his last start at the Gold Coast on the poly track when finishing third. He slides down a grade and should make full use of the pole position early on. His next win is not far away. GREY EFFECTS (5) won his maiden fresh up and then was third here 2 starts back before finishing fifth as favourite at Lismore last time out. He is worth another chance in this even lineup. Follow your money. ARTEMAS (1) resumes today following a recent trial at Deagon, can figure in the finish. SIR BEVERIDGE (7) next best in the small field.
SELECTIONS: Private Tender to win.
PAKENHAM SYNTHETIC: RACE 2 @ 1:30 PM
HENRY'S BLADE (4) had a couple of starts in stronger company earlier in the year and after a spell, he resumed as favourite at Geelong 17 days ago, finishing runner-up. With the natural improvement that is expected second up, he can go one better, especially with the advantage of the pole position. PLANET MARS (7) stuck on gamely when fourth fresh up on this course 5 weeks ago and has been given plenty of time to get over that effort. The extra 100 metres will suit him and he can figure in the top 3 this time. EL BEATLE (3) has not finished his run off as expected in his last couple of starts over 1200 metres and may be better off over the shorter trips for now. He has a handy draw and is worth another chance. NICABUK (6) fought hard for his fifth place at Warrnambool nearly 3 weeks ago and is having his first start over a journey shorter than 1400 metres this time. He meets an even field and with the right run he can have a say in the outcome of the finish here.
SELECTIONS: Henry's Blade to win.
