Klabel set to repay the faith at Murray Bridge on Saturday.

A disappointing favourite when resuming last month, the R & C Jolly-trained Klabel has been kept on the fresh side for his second-up assignment and I expect him to be bouncing back sharply.

The son of Vadamos took his time working through his gears first-up at Morphettville Parks, and unfortunately it was too late for his supporters when he eventually reached top speed, hitting the line strongly for third.

The four-year-old was 19 pounds off his best (103) in that first-up minor placing when running to 84 on the Racing and Sports scale but was finishing fast, unleashing with some of the meeting's fastest closing splits.

There's clearly a lot more under the bonnet and I'm hoping the 28 days between runs can see him bounce back to somewhere near his best, and if he can, he will take plenty of stitching.

As for our best value play on the 10-race card we head to the last where I'm keen on the chances of Dolcemente from the John Hyam yard.

The three-year-old filly was a barnstorming maiden winner here three weeks ago when rattling home from last to score with a bit up her sleeve. The rise in trip looks to suit Dolcemente and an inside draw should have her settling closer with gun hoop in Jason Holder taking the ride.

Represents a great each-way chance.
