Form guru Gary Crispe believes boom three-year-old fillies Tailleur and Le Gai Soliel can extend their winning streaks at Randwick's Kensington meeting – but the bookies have them too short in latest betting.

Crispe, compiler of the official Timeform ratings, said unbeaten Godolphin filly Tailleur has shown considerable promise in her two-start career and deserves to be favourite in the De Bortoli Wines Handicap (1100m).

"Tailleur created quite the impression on debut when making light work of her rivals at Gosford, beating five subsequent winners by four lengths,'' Crispe said.

"She was put straight away and returned in good order when too strong late at Randwick over 1100m earlier in the month. She was forced to knuckle down late but was able to gun down Switched and return a career-peak Timeform rating of 89.

"But (on Saturday) she faces a filly of good talent in Emeralds who is resuming. First-up last preparation Emeralds was beaten just over three lengths behind Flit in the Group 2 Light Fingers Stakes and a repeat of that type of performance where she rated 105 with Timeform would see her very competitive.

"Tailleur is expected to improve further second-up on Saturday which should give further indication of what level she could reach,'' Crispe said.

"It is not beyond the realms of possibility to suggest she is capable of following a similar trajection to Haut Brion Her.

"Unbeaten and on an upward spiral, she is very promising but whether she is entitled to be at such cramped odds in pre-post betting is another matter. On Timeform-adjusted ratings suggest Tailleur is closer to a $2.20 chance.''

Le Gai Soleil, trained by John O'Shea, is chasing her fourth successive win in the Heineken 3 Handicap (1550m) and is at $1.75 in latest betting.

After a third placing on debut late last year, Le Gai Soleil has since resumed with three consecutive wins including her brilliant effort at Kensington earlier this month.

"She also rated 89 by Timeform off that win,'' Crispe revealed.

"She was ridden a 'peach' by James McDonald when taking full advantage of the solid tempo up front, pulling her to the outside and gathering her opponents up inside the 200m.

"While she steps up in grade, she doesn't strike an overly strong Benchmark 78 and has drawn to settle closer.

"It might be worth mentioning that Monasterio won the same lead-up race as Le Gai Soleil last year and ran to the same Timeform rating of 89 yet has failed to win another race.''
