Sassy Sue’s-Boulder Cup-Bm86, September 14 - Kalgoorlie

3 minute read

Red Blast wins Sassy Sue’s-Boulder Cup-Bm86+ $110,000 at Kalgoorlie (WA) 3yo+, 2100m.

Red Blast was fifth on the rails before being shuffled back to seventh in the mid-stages. He got through along the rails nearing the home turn and was full of running. He then switched around heels at the 250m and finished strongly in the final stages for a good win.

Ram Jam had a good trip third on the rails, challenged on straightening and kept battling on well for a close second.

True Gold raced outside the leader Rive Gauche, went to the front shortly after turning for home and battled on well for a close up third while Rive Gauche led the field until the home turn and held on fairly well for (2.5 lengths) fourth.

The favourite Operational was midfield, three wide with cover before putting in a wide run approaching the home turn. But he only battled from that point to finish fifth, beaten four lengths.
