Antelucan wins 2016 Adel. Galvanising Adel. Gneas Listed $100,000 at Morphettville (SA) 3yo, 1600m.
Godolphin-raced filly Antelucan scored a really good win. She settled well in fifth place, between runners, from her good barrier (3), following a good tempo (first 1000m 60.68). She got a split at the 200m, took the lead at the 100m and then drew clear to win well.
Whirlpool did not show any early pace and settled back in last place in the 11-horse field. She improved, wide with cover, from the 800m before going deep on straightening. She challenged at the 100m and then fought well for a very good second. She is a progressive filly who put up a really good effort, stepping up in class here.
Lahqa raced in fourth place on the rails before getting a split on turning for home. She took the lead at the 200m, briefly looking the winner before battling on for a sound third.
