Voodoo Lad scored his first stakes win in good style despite racing ungenerously in the early stages. He settled in fifth place (between runners), going a bit keenly behind a steady early tempo (first 600m 36.47). He then improved on straightening (under riding), hit the front at the 100m before racing away to score impressively.

Jungle Edge went to the front, lifted the pace from the 600m and held a good break 200m. He then battled on well to hold second in a photo after running a bold race.

Fast 'N' Rocking settled in fifth spot but was shuffled back to eighth (between runners) at the 600m. He was in restricted room at the 200m and then ran on quite well for third (narrowly missing second in a photo).

Palentino raced sixth place, tracking the eventual winner (Voodoo Lad). He moved up (deep) at the home turn and then kept fighting on for (3.4 lengths) fourth in a sound first-up effort.
