Savanna Amour, off a third placing in the Kevin Hayes Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) two weeks ago, sat third, one out and one back early from barrier four. Her position remained the same down the side and past the 600m then jockey Joao Moreira pushed her forward to be closer turning in. Moreira got busy inside the 200m and they took a narrow lead at the 50m and he lifted her over the line in the last couple of strides.

Ellicazoom got alongside the pacemaker turning in, led narrowly from the 200m to the 50m yet never gave in for a hard fought second.

Oregon's Day was widest, in sixth, turning for home, ranged alongside the winner and kept up a strong run for a close up third.

Inspired Estelle was fourth (rails) turning for home, had every chance with the split at the 200m but could not catch the first three, finishing (2.2 lengths) fourth.
