Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas added another winner to their city tally when Red Raider took out the 1300 metre opening event at Morphettville on Saturday.
Opening its winning account at start number three the Clare Lindop guided Red Raider came last with a strong run over the concluding stages.
Leading all the way Super Haze gave Tony McEvoy and his stable rider Damien Thornton a win in the 2400 metre second race.Alta Stella won her second successive race at her third start when she took out the 100 metre third race.
Giving Jamie Kah her forty-second winner for the season in the city the Nick Smart prepared Alta Stella was well placed.An on-course pick up ride at the expense of Ben Claridge saw Paul Gatt join the winner’s list when Beautiful Voice won the 1250 metre fourth race.
Prepared on the course by Phillip Stokes, Beautiful Voice proved too strong for her rivals on the line when she came from a midfield position to win narrowly.Coming off a last start fourth on the Parks circuit Beluga Blue brought up a double for co-trainers Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas in the 1550 metre fifth race.
Champion trainer Darren Weir kept his winning ways intact at Morphettville when his charge Gun Case took out the 1000 metre sixth race.Piloted by Jake Toeroek Gun Case came from fourth on the home turn to win in a stylish fashion.
Hoop Damien Thornton scored his second win for the afternoon when Harbour Grey took out the 1250 metre seventh event.Prepared at Flemington by Stephen Brown and having its first run since December Harbour Grey came from a midfield position to fight off his rivals in the shadows of the post.
The Travis Doudle trained Lord Topper wrapped up an interesting day of racing when he won the final event which was run over 1400 metres.In a narrow win the Todd Pannell ridden Lord Topper was well placed.
