Consistent Mick Kent-trained sprinter Supido scored a smart first up win, taking his record to seven wins from 13 starts in taking out his first Group success here. He was ridden patiently by Luke Nolen, racing in sixth place, but was briefly held up nearing the home turn before being switched into clear running at the 300m. He then sprinted quickly, hit the front at the 50m and appeared to win with something in hand.

Daytona Grey raced in fifth place on the rails, looked dangerous when he took an inside run to challenge at the 100m and then fought well for a very good second.

Murt The Flirt raced in last place in the eight-horse field, went deep at the home turn and came with a strong run for a late-closing third in a good first up effort.

Divine Ten raced in third place, wide without cover, and held on well for (1.9 lengths) fourth while Lord Of The Sky led the field to the 200m, going at quite a good tempo, before finishing (3 lengths) fifth in a sound first up run.
