Durable seven-year-old gelding Burning Front took his record to 19 wins and 20 placings from 57 starts in taking out his fifth stakes success here.

After a brilliant beginning he went to the front and then travelled comfortably at a reasonable tempo (first 800m 49.58) on the downgraded Soft 5 track before picking up the pace from the 600m. He was challenged at the home turn but he kept fighting back gamely under 60kg to win well.

Chamois Road settled in third place on the rails, got along the inner from the 200m and kept fighting on well for second after seeming to have had every chance.

The favourite Dollar For Dollar had a nice trip in fourth place (one out and one back), looked dangerous when he challenged at the 200m and then battled on to take third just in front of Nikitas, who held on for fourth after racing outside the leader.
