Star Saints mid Lambert to challenge one-match AFLW ban

3 minute read

Two-time All-Australian Jaimee Lambert will front up at the AFLW Tribunal to challenge her one-match ban for a dangerous tackle.

St Kilda's 34-point win over GWS has come at a cost, with star midfielder Jaimee Lambert receiving a one-match suspension for a tackle on Alyce Parker.

Lambert pinned Parker's right arm in a chicken wing-style tackle before dumping her to the ground.

Parker's head slammed into the turf, with the rough conduct charge deemed careless conduct, medium impact and high contact, drawing a one-match ban.

St Kilda have announced they will challenge the suspension.

Unless Lambert wins her case at the AFLW Tribunal, she will miss St Kilda's crunch clash with Melbourne on Sunday.

Lambert was a three-time best-and-fairest winner at Collingwood before moving to the Saints ahead of the club's 2023 campaign.

She won St Kilda's best-and-fairest award last season, and was in hot form against the Giants with 27 disposals, 11 tackles, eight clearances and two goal assists.

St Kilda sit seventh on the ladder with a 4-3 record, and are desperate for Lambert to be freed to play against the 13th-placed Demons.

Imagine what you could be buying instead.
