AUS V PAK THIRD T20

The series may be decided but there is still plenty to play for when Australia and Pakistan face off in the third and final T20I at Bellerive Oval on Monday night. Australia secured an unassailable 2-0 lead with a nail-biting 13-run win at the SCG largely thanks to some early pyrotechnics from openers Matthew Short (32 off 17 balls) and Jake Fraser-McGurk (20 off 9 balls) which underpinned their ultimately underwhelming total of 9/147 as well a breakthrough performance from imposing left-arm quick Spencer Johnson who claimed 5/26 off four overs to knock the Pakistanis over for 134. The visitors once again found themselves right in the game thanks to their bowling attack with Haris Rauf (4/22 off four overs) continuing his champagne tour, while the less experienced Abbas Afridi (3/17 off four overs) and Sufiyan Muqeem (2/21 off four overs) also prospered, however they couldn't find enough runs to force a decider with skipper Mohammad Rizwan's laboured 16 off 26 balls unable to be offset by a punchy half-century from the emerging Usman Khan (52 off 38 balls).

BACK: Pakistan (Match Odds) at $3.10+ for 1 unit

Despite the narrow margin in Sydney, prices remain more or less where they were for game two with the hosts heavily favoured to execute a whitewash. The engrossing contest we saw at the SCG only two nights prior highlighted just how close the sides are and with the series wrapped up we may see even more rotation from an Australian side already missing several key players so therefore we really have to go in on the visitors again and have faith that they will finish this white-ball tour with a consolation win.
