The states, who both won their opening fixtures in the domestic cup competition, were washed out in Thursday's scheduled clash at Cricket Central in Sydney.
Both NSW and SA have six points on the cup table and now turn their attention to their October 8 Sheffield Shield fixture at the same venue.
