Reliable Man sires 12th stakes winner
Westbury Stud shuttler Reliable Man (Dalakhani) was handed his 12th stakes winner courtesy of Adrian’s (3 c ex Anna Desta by Desert Style) victory in the Derby-Trial (Listed, 2200m) at Düsseldorf on Saturday.
Last seen running second in the Derby Trial (Gr 3, 2000m) at Baden-Baden in May, the three-year-old colt made amends for that defeat when he beat Deia (Soldier Hollow) into second with Minotauros (Tiberius Caesar) in third.
Adrian is out of unraced Desert Style (Green Desert) mare Anna Desta making him a half-brother to Group 3 winner Anna Katherina (Kallisto) and Listed scorer Attica (Tai Chi).
Anna Desta herself is a half-sister to Group 2 winner Aspectus (Spectrum) and the dam of Group 3 winner Jackfinbar (Whipper) and Listed-winning duo Willie The Whipper (Whipper) and Anna Magnolia (Makfi).
Further back this the family of Group 2 winner Akribie (Reliable Man).
Reliable Man’s progeny is headed by VRC Oaks (Gr 1, 2500m) winner Miami Bound and New Zealand Oaks (Gr 1, 2400m) winner Sentimental Miss and he will stand at Westbury Stud for a fee of NZ$15,000 (plus GST) this season.
Meanwhile in France, Gold Trip (3 c ex Sarvana by Dubai Destination) landed the Prix Greffulhe (Gr 2, 2200m) at Lyon Parilly and in the process handed Darley stallion Outstrip (Exceed And Excel) his third stakes winner.
The three-year-old colt beat Influx (Golden Horn) by a length with another head back to In Swoop (Alderflug) in third.
Gold Trip becomes the second winner out of Sarvana (Dubai Destination) and he is a half-brother to Listed-placed Got Wind (Olympic Glory).
Sarvana herself is a half-sister to Listed winner Sarkiyla (Oasis Dream) further back this is the family of Group 1 winner Safita (Habitat).
Outstrip stood at Darley’s Dalham Hall base for a fee of $5,000 (inc GST) in 2020.
Later on in the day at Lyon Parilly, Neige Blanche (3 f ex Bianca Neve by Muhtathir) broke her stakes duck when she landed the Prix Cleopatre (Gr 3, 2200m) and in the process handed her sire Anodin (Anabaa) with his third stakes winner.
The filly beat Flighty Lady (Sir Percy) by a length and a quarter with another three quarters of a length back to World Peace (Camelot) in third.
Neige Blanche is out of winning mare Bianca Neve (Muthathir), who is herself a half-sister to Blanche (Loup Solitaire) - the dam of Indigo (Falco).
Anodin stood at Haras du Quesnay for a fee of €12,000 and Neige Blanche joins Group 3 winner Anodor and Listed scorer Harmless as the stallion’s other stakes winners.
