Prince Lancelot lands Prix Zeddaan
Cornerstone Stud shuttler Sir Prancealot (Tamayuz) was represented by his ninth stakes winner as his son Prince Lancelot (2 c ex Rainbow Vale by Moss Vale) got his head in front in the Prix Zeddaan (Listed, 1200m) at Deauville on Tuesday.
The two-year-old colt came into the race off the back of a fifth place finish in the Prix Eclipse (Gr 3, 1200m), having finished third in the Prix de Cabourg (Gr 3, 1200m) on his second career start and he scampered away from the field to beat Frontgate (War Front) by two and a half lengths, while Izumi (Showcasing) was another half a length away in third.
Purchased by Amanda Skiffington for €90,000 at the 2019 Arqana Deauville August Yearling Sale, the colt is out of placed Moss Vale (Shinko Forest) mare Rainbow Vale, who is herself a daughter of Group 3 winner Rainbows For All (Rainbows For Life).
Rainbows For All is the dam of two winners headed by Listed scorer Rainbow Crossing (Cape Cross), who in turn produced dual Group 3 scorer Al Jazi (Canford Cliffs), who is herself the grandam of Group 2 winner Soffia (Kyllachy).
Sir Prancealot resides at the Rancho San Miguel in California in the northern hemisphere, while he is currently standing at Cornerstone Stud for a fee of $9,900 (inc GST) in 2020.
