The Fozzy Stack-trained Flying Rock (2 f ex Cry Me A River by Danehill Dancer) broke her maiden at the sixth time of asking as she posted an impressive victory over seven furlongs at Dundalk on Friday and in the process provided former Coolmore Stud shuttler Air Force Blue (War Front) with his 16th first-season winner.

The two-year-old filly was last seen running eighth over six furlongs at the same track and she finally got her head in front when beating Chevillon (Dragon Pulse) by a length and a half, while Catherine Chroi (Camacho) was a further nose adrift in third.

The filly was purchased by Rockfield Stud and CormacMcCormack for €105,000 at the Goffs Orby Yearling Sale in 2019 and she is out of placed Danehill Dancer (Danehill) mare Cry Me A River.

Cry Me A River is a half-sister to New Zealand Listed winner Skiddaw Peak (Generous), while the filly also hails from the same family as elite level-winning duo Mikki Rocket (King Kamehameha) and Landseer (Danehill).

This is also the same family as Listed-winning trio Passaggio (Exceed And Excel) and Moneycantbuymelove (Pivotal).

Air Force Blue shuttled to Australia for one season and he now stands exclusively at Coolmore’s Kentucky base and his fee in 2021 will be US$10,000. His first crop includes stakes-placed pair Chief Little Hawk and Take Profit.
