Montfort et Préaux-based stallion dies at the age of 16.
Le Havre (Noverre), who was pensioned from stud duty earlier this year, has died at Montfort et Preaux at the age of 16.
Winner of the 2009 Prix du Jockey Club (Gr 1, 2100m), Le Havre stood his first season at stud in 2010 at a fee of €5,000. To date, he has sired 50 stakes winners headed by five Group 1 winners in Wonderful Tonight, La Cressonniere, Avenir Certain, Suedois and Villa Marina. From 14 runners in Australia, the son of Noverre (Rahy) has sired two stakes winners; dual Group 3 winner Auvray and Harbour Views.
Le Havre stood for a peak fee of €60,000 in 2017 and 2018 and his 2022 fee had been advertised at €40,000.
LE HAVRE has passed away last night following health issues.
