Dubawi and Galileo sire new Group 1 winners

New Group 1 winners
50 for Dubawi
Darley's Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) sired his 50th Group 1 winner when Naval Crown (4 c ex Come Alive by Dansili) won the Platinum Jubilee Stakes (6f). Trained by Charlie Appleby, Naval Crown denied his more fancied stablemate Creative Force – another son of Dubawi – by a neck, with international raiders Artorius (Flying Artie) and Campanelle (Kodiac) dead-heating for third. Dubawi's fee at Darley's Dalham Hall Stud has been set at £250,000 for the last six years and is currently the leading sire in Europe by prize money, with his progeny earnings almost €1,000,000 ahead of nearest rival Frankel (Galileo).

 

95 for Galileo
Coolmore Stud's late champion sire Galileo (Sadler's Wells) recorded his 95th Group 1 winner when the Moyglare Stud Farm homebred Kyprios (4 c ex Polished Gem by Danehill) won Thursday's Gold Cup (2m4f). Starting favourite under Ryan Moore, Kyprios beat Mojo Star (Sea The Stars) by a half length taking his record to five wins in seven career starts. Kyprios is one of ten winners out of Polished Gem, who has produced two other Group 1 winners in Search For A Song (Galileo) and Free Eagle (High Chaparral) as well as the Group winners Sapphire (Medicean), Custom Cut (Notnowcato) and Valac (Dark Angel).

 

New stakes winners
19 for Brazen Beau
The Richard Fahey-trained The Ridler (2 c ex Coorada by Lope De Vega) provided Darley's Brazen Beau with his 19th stakes winner when he won Thursday's Group 2 Norfolk Stakes (5f). Having his fourth career start, the colt stayed on strongly to defeat favourite Walbank (Kodiac) by a length and three quarters. Brazen Beau's stakes winners are headed by his Group 1 winning son On The Bubbles, while The Ridler joins Pretty Brazen and Colada as Group 2 winners for the son of I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit).

 

Brilliant week for Dubawi
Darley's Dubawi (Dubai Millennium) recorded his 231st stakes winner when Eldar Eldarov (3 c ex All At Sea by Sea The Stars) remained unbeaten in Wednesday's Group 2 Queen's Vase (1m6f). Starting favourite, Eldar Eldarov denied the Aquis Farm and Manton Park-raced Zechariah (Nathaniel) by a nose in a photo finish. Dubawi sired the winner of five races throughout the week at Royal Ascot including Group 1 winners Naval Crown and Coroebus.

 

Six for New Bay
Claymore's (3 c ex Brit Wit by High Chaparral) victory in Thursday's Group 3 Hampton Court Stakes (1m2f) provided his sire, New Bay (Dubawi) with his sixth stakes winner. Claymore finished second behind Native Trail in the Group 3 Craven Stakes (1m) at Newmarket earlier this season and on his fourth career start denied favourite, Reach For The Moon (Sea The Stars), by a length and three quarters. The Ballylinch Stud-based New Bay has three crops of racing age and his Group 1 winning daughter Saffron Beach won the Group 2 Duke Of Cambridge Stakes at last week's Royal meeting.

 

39 for No Nay Never
The Aidan O'Brein-trained Little Big Bear (2 c ex Adventure Seeker by Bering) won Wednesday's Listed Windsor Castle Stakes (5f) handing former Coolmore Australia shuttler No Nay Never (Scat Daddy) his 39th stakes winner. Little Big Bear is one of 23 juvenile stakes winners by No Nay Never who also sired the winner of the Group 3 Albany Stakes (6f) last week in Meditate.

 

58 for Showcasing
Former Haunui shuttler Showcasing (Oasis Dream) sired his 58th stakes winner on Wednesday when Dramatised (2 f ex Katie's Diamond by Turtle Bowl) won the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes (5f). A winner on debut over five furlongs in April, Dramatised scored a one and three quarter length victory over Maylandsea (Havana Grey), with Maria Branwell (James Garfield) third. Showcasing is based at Whitsbury Manor Stud in Hampshire where his 2022 fee was set at £45,000 for the second consecutive year having stood at a career high fee of £55,000 in 2019 and 2020.

 

First for Tasleet
The Archie Watson-trained Bradsell (2 c ex Russian Punch by Archipenko) remained unbeaten when he scored an impressive length and a half victory in Tuesday's Group 2 Coventry Stakes (6f), providing his Shadwell Stud-based first season sire Tasleet (Showcasing) with his first stakes winner. A nine length winner on debut at York last month, Bradsell stepped up into stakes company and beat Persian Force (Mehmas) while Royal Scotsman (Gleneagles) was a neck further back in third. Tasleet has five winners so far in his first crop.

 

Two for Ulysees
Breaking his maiden in Saturday's Listed Chesham Stakes (7f), the Karl Burke-trained Holloway Boy (2 c ex Sultry by Pivotal) became the second stakes winner and first juvenile stakes winner for Cheveley Park Stud's young sire Ulysees (Galileo). Ulysees stood for a fee of £10,000 this year.
