The Shane Baertschiger trained Thunderstruck did enough in his Singapore debut to suggest he can break through in the sixth event at Kranji this evening.
Formerly trained by Bjorn Baker [Old Name: Hez Lethal], Thunderstruck displayed decent ability, despite only saluting the judge once in six starts.
Thunderstruck did a majority of his racing in Country NSW, having broken his maiden status at Orange in April. He rounded out his career in Australia finishing second at Bathurst behind Fire Stoker.
Off the scene for close to six months, Thunderstruck was given the two trials prior to his Singapore debut, travelling well in both.Sent out well in the market ($4.40), Thunderstruck finished fourth beaten just over a length behind Lim's Dashing.
In quite a messy race, Thunderstruck was involved in the interference which saw Alysha Collett dislodged from race favourite Drone. Not suggesting he would have won, but he did lose a bit of momentum at a vital stage.
Sure to improve with that run under his belt, he remains open to good improvement on prior best form. The step up to 1100m will no doubt suit and although drawn out, he still should prove hard to beat with Kellady aboard.
The Bruce Marsh trained Classified has been a model of consistency this time in and did beat home the former last start. While possessing just the three wins to his name from 26 starts, he has placed on a further eight occasions and is rarely far away.
Another drawn wide, but if able to hold his form, he is sure to make his presence felt. The Lee Freedman trained Petite Voix hasn't quite fired in recent outings, however she appears much better placed back in this grade.
A winner of two of five attempts on the polytrack, she rates well on best form and has to be included in the main chances with Harry Kasim aboard.Of the rest the Dan Meagher trained Dash appears the next in line.
Although disappointing last start, his form prior was rock solid and he saves his best for the polytrack. Will require a bit of luck from the draw, but still shapes as a leading chance.
Good luck and happy punting.
