Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for November 12.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Hawkesbury, Queanbeyan and Mornington.
HAWKESBURY: RACE 6 @ 4:55 PM
APEX (2) well bred Exceedance gelding who resumes for his second prep. Showed good speed on debut when a fighting third over 1100m at Warwick Farm on May 22. Fitted with two sharp trials and gelded over the break. Expected to go close. APOLLO RIDGE (7) improving with racing and a win looks imminent. Went out fast and found wanting late when third over 1000m at this track on October 24. Has fitness on his side and will prove hard to stop. THE GREY (1) trained on the track and resumes from a four month break. Raced handy before failing to finish off in the slow conditions when sixth over 1200m at Canterbury on July 24. Has two solid trials under his belt and gets his chance from the inside gate. EDITING (10) three-year-old filly by Written Tycoon out of Talented on debut for the Maher yard. Fitted with four trials and sure to be well educated. Can play a leading role.
SELECTIONS: Apex to win.

QUEANBEYAN: RACE 5 @ 4:40 PM
DRUNKEN SAILOR (1) did well at Hawkesbury after a slow start and then spiked his figures narrowly beaten over this distance at Wagga. Peaks now and can go one better with the in-form John Kissick remaining in the saddle. SIR SUBLIME (4) led and won a Maiden easily at the Sapphire Coast over this distance. He hits the race at peak fitness and maps for the run of the race. No surprise if he took the next step. MICKEY'S PRIDE (2) is in a canny local barn and he needed the first-up outing. He's switched from a top Sydney stable and the step up to the mile suits. May need one more but he has pieces of form that would see him right in the finish. NO ESCAPING THIS (3) is another local presenting second-up.
SELECTIONS: With Drunken Sailor.
MORNINGTON: RACE 6 @ 4:00 PM
SIOUX SPIRIT (2) won on debut and then contested some stronger fields in a couple of runs after that. Her recent spell would have done her the world of good and she will be even stronger this season. She has a good draw and will find this company easier. She has a home track advantage and is the one to beat fresh up. GIVE FAITH (6) won a trial before having a tough run on debut and finishing fifth. She set the record straight from a better draw at Yarra Valley last time out, scoring by well over 2 lengths. She is bred to continue to improve with racing and she can win again. INNOCENT ENUFF (8) has been freshened up since last racing nearly 6 weeks ago and she has never missed a cheque in 3 starts on her home track here, including a win. She has pole position and can bounce back into the money here. WIND DREAMER (3) is resuming from a spell and normally comes to hand quickly. Include in all combinations.
SELECTIONS: Sioux Spirit to win.
