Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

Juvenile maidens with all but one of the eleven racing for the first time. We'll side with the newcomers and (3) PALO ALTO qualified at the second time of asking, leading all the way to win a heat on September 5th in a fair time. He draws nicely, the 1200M should suit first up, and he has every chance. (2) BEST RACE was 2nd in his trial but it was in a quick time, settling handy and running on If he brings that form to the races, he will be firmly in the mix. The solitary one with experience is (4) GEOLJAK HAPPY and she has raced twice. She improved to 3rd in the second of them on September 9th when briefly touching the front in the home straight. She comes up in trip for the first-time and should have the edge on plenty of these in terms of fitness. (8) LUCKY SUNNY and (11) TAEGISAN KING others who hinted at ability in trials.

Selections (3) Palo Alto (2) Best Race (4) Geoljak Happy (8) Lucky Sunny

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(2) YUSUBUJAENGSEON has steadily improved across four starts so far, culminating in a 3rd place at this distance on August 18th when racing close to the pace throughout. The time he recorded was significantly faster than any of the others here have achieved for the 1200M and he will be a warm favourite. The main danger is (5) WONPYEONG NURI. He has a 4th and a 5th from his latest two and in this company should be on the speed and can be in things a long way. (8) MG FIRST has mixed his form across three starts so far, but he does have a 3rd place to his name at this distance and that's enough to put him in the placing frame here. (3) CHALLANHAN NALGAE and (1) RUNNING ARTIST may be the best of a limited rest.

Selections (2) Yusubujaengseon (5) Wonpyeong Nuri (8) MG First (3) Challanhan Nalgae

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Fillies only in this maiden. (10) FUNNY TAP was 4th on debut in a quick time on September 12th when she settled midfield and ran on very pleasingly. She should have come on for that run, the additional half furlong can suit, and she is the one to beat here. (1) BEATRIZ has been knocking on the door over her latest few. She has the fastest time among these for the distance and should be on the speed from the start. (6) AMAZING STAR actually has a win on her record back in June. She was stripped of the rating points from that after a post-race test (hence why she is still in a maiden) and a subsequent outing in August didn't go well. She has been back to trial since and looked good when winning a heat last week. Her interesting career can continue here. (5) GREEN CONCORD and (2) GANDAGO others in the hunt.

Selections (10) Funny Tap (1) Beatriz (6) Amazing Star (5) Green Concord

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(11) MAGIC PRINCE has two 2nd places and a 4th in three attempts at this class and distance, most recently when a very close runner-up on September 15th, beating a couple of today's rivals in the process. He has the challenge of the widest gate here, but his running style hasn't been to lead early, and he can go one better today. (9) GEUMSEONG REVERE similarly beat two of today's other rivals on her way to 2nd place at this class and distance on August 31st when leading for much of the way around at big odds. She will warrant more respect here. (7) SEONGSIL YEONGUNG has been ordinary in his latest couple over 1400M, but he comes up to the two turns for the first time and it may suit. (1) DANGCHAN NANGBO and (10) CHADOL RUN others in the frame.

Selections (11) Magic Prince (9) Geumseong Revere (7) Seongsil Yeongung (1) Dangchan Nangbo

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies and mares only here. (2) GLORY AND HONOR should have won at this class and distance three starts back when 3rd but she has maintained her form with another 3rd and then 4th in two subsequent outings. She draws well, carries a very light weight, and back in filly only company, she is the one to beat. (7) EXCELLENT MATTA comes in off a smart 4th place over 1300M on August 13th/ She is yet to win but in this company, she can be on the pace and can be in this a long way. (1) HAENGBOK YEOJEONSA made all to win over this distance and class 6 level three starts back. She enters off a last start 4th and from a better gate today can get closer. (9) FINAL JILJU and (10) HAEJE YEOGEOL among others to consider.

Selections (2) Glory And Honor (7) Excellent Matta (1) Haengbok Yeojeonsa (9) Final Jilju

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

It took (5) PROMISE several goes to get through trials but once he did, he debuted very well, winning over 1200M on September 8th, settling midfield and running through the live strongly. The overall time wasn't fast, but his final furlong certainly was and while up in class and in trip here, neither should be a problem and he can go two for two. (10) CHEONJI SKY has been knocking on the door of another win with three 3rd places and a 4th from his latest four. Given his running style, the wide draw shouldn't be a problem, and he can be there or thereabouts again today. (6) BIG ENERGY came from well off the pace to beat a couple of these on his way to 2nd place at class and distance on September 7th. He was a long way behind an excellent winner but can go close here. (9) CHROMITE and (11) SPARKLING others to keep safe.

Selections (5) Promise (10) Cheonji Sky (6) Big Energy (9) Chromite

Seoul Race 7: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Competitive race with nine of the eleven coming on having finished in the top three in their respective latest starts. That includes (2) BEST MAYA who comes up rapidly having won his latest two in fine style over 1200M, most recently on September 8th when racing handy and taking things up early in the straight. In addition to being up in class, he comes up to 1400M for the first time, but he can measure up. (1) STUNNING LADY was a winner over 1300M in a quick time two starts back before running 3rd on her first try at this class and distance on August 25th when leading for much of the way. From the inside gate she can lead again and may take some getting past. (5) TAENG TAENG BALL is yet to finish outside the top two in five attempts. Most recently he ran 2nd at this class and distance om August 17th and while he is slightly up in the weights, he will surely be in the mix again. (11) PRINCE DAY and (9) MYUNGJUNBULLPAI among plenty of others with chances.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Fillies and mares only here and it's hard to go far past (1) JEONGSEONGTIGER. Her sole win came at 1200M at class 5 level in April, but she has been close in all three subsequent starts, the latter two at this class over 1400M and 1300M. She comes up to the mile for the first time, she draws nicely, and she can win. (3) CHEONMAPYEONGJEONG enters off a 2nd and a 4th from her latest two at 1400M and 1300M. She likes to settle back and run on and the step up to 1600M can suit. (10) PINK WIND is another who may like the additional distance. She has only missed the top four twice from ten starts and she came from off the pace to run a smart 3rd from a wide draw last time out. (2) CHAMJEOUN JILJU and (5) THE FAVORITE among others in the placing frame.

Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(1) BEST TORCH is an ultra-consistent type and enters off a 3rd place over a mile on August 31st when settling midfield and running on. She is a two-time winner at this distance having posted some excellent times along the way, and she has every chance of returning to the winner's circle here. (5) DALBITJOGAKSA returned from ten months out to win in fine style over 1200M on August 18th, leading all the way. She comes up in class here, but she should if anything strip fitter for that run and she can be a big danger. (6) BRAVO PLAY hasn't raced since winning back-to-back starts over 1200M in February and March, both times leading all the way. He comes up in class and after thirty weeks out, match fitness may be a concern, but he looked well when 2nd in a September trial and he can put in a bold showing first up. (7) RAON THE COBRA and (11) CHADOL DIA others to consider.

Seoul Race 10: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(7) NEW DOLKONG ran 2nd over 1700M two starts back before beating a couple of these on his way to 4th on his first try at this distance on August 25th, settling midfield and running on. He remains under a light weight here and he looks ready to win. That applies too to (2) EAST WEST. He ran 5th behind New Dolkong in that August 25th race but at the start before he registered a runner-up finish at this class and distance and from a good draw, can be a threat. (8) ULTRA DRAGON won at this class and distance when making all two starts back before finishing 4th when trying to repeat the trick. He comes in fresh after twelve weeks off and an apprentice jockey claiming 4kg makes him competitive weight wise. (5) NEW ZEALAND SOCKS and (4) MISS CHARLIE are the other main chances.

Selections (7) New Dolkong (2) East West (8) Ultra Dragon (5) New Zealand Socks

Seoul Race 11: Class 2 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

(11) MONTAUK CHAT made an unlikely appearance in the Korea Cup last month and didn't actually run badly having previously just about held his own in the KRA Cup Classic. He has won at this distance and returning to much shallower waters today, can win here. (8) HERO FIGHTER is the main danger. He is a winner of two of his latest three including last time out over 2000M in what was his first try at class 2, leading all the way. He comes up 4kg for his troubles, but a repeat can't be discounted. (10) OHRA KHAN has won at this distance at class 3 level and may welcome the step back up to two turns following his latest couple at shorter. (3) K N SKETCH and (2) MONEY CROWN are others in at least the placing frame.

Selections (11) Montauk Chat (8) Hero Fighter (10) Ohra Khan (3) K N Sketch
