None more so than in the G1 feature Grand Prix du Jockey Club which went to Saonois at 35/1.
It was a pretty rough race as the 20 runners jostled for positions, but Saonois with apprentice jockey Antoine Hamlin getting the verdict. Godolphin France's St Baudolino stormed home for second and another longshot Nutello took third with Kesampour fourth.
Earlier the Royaumont went to Sediciosa from Yellow and Green, with the gorgeous Mandistana third.
The Sandringham gave Mick Channon another great win with Lough Out Loud, ridden by William Buick, defeating Mashoora and Frankie Dettori's mount Rock The Baby third at 25/1.
The Grand Prix de Chantilly went to another Buick mount Aiken, from Maxios second and Dunaden, clearly needing longer, finishing well for third.
The Gros-Chene actually stayed with the French this time with Wizz Kid for Robert Collet defeating Stepper Out and Hamish McGonagall from the raiding party.
Going was good to soft and the weather not too bad.
