Singapore racing best bets, race by race analysis looking at the full Singapore card on Sunday the 2nd of December with selections and information on all the main contenders.
RACE 1
CASSIS OOLONG (8) - Honest Class 5 performer who has been racing well. Suited over the 1000m and the Hideyuki Takaoka stable has been in decent form late in the season. With Olivier Placais to mount, this horse looks a strong contender.
WITHOUT PREJUDICE (2) - Will present here on the fresh side having not raced since September. If there is any money for this horse, respect his chances.
HALLELUJAH (5) - Ran on well enough behind Jumpin Jack last time to be considered here. Jumpin Jack has won again since so the form out of that race looks okay.
LARSON (6) - Comes back in distance here off a four-week gap between runs. Should be capable of running on well and could fill a place.
RACE 2
FEDERATION (2) - Is on debut here for Mark Walker and finds Vlad Duric who rode this horse at his latest trial when third beaten two and a half lengths. Showed a turn of foot early in the straight and then was shut down and allowed to cruise to the line. The trial had some style about it, hard to beat here.
DIAMOND KING (7) - Has the race experience on his side here. Was a nice second on debut behind Makkem Lad and from barrier 1, should be able to hold a forward position. Looks a danger.
GOLD STAR (1) - Had four starts in Australia for two placings at Ballarat and Donald. Just the one trial leading into this where he was not knocked around finishing seventh beaten four lengths. In good stable and his trial rider Michael Rodd stays on.
MY BOSS (8) - Did run okay in his latest racetrack appearance when 2.1L fifth behind Just Landed in a 1200m maiden on October 26. Can keep improving. Place claims.
RACE 3
NORTHERN SUN (2) - Is getting fitter now after three runs back and could be finding a competitive mark here with a rating of 59. From the better barrier, could settle closer and is a horse that is capable in this grade on his better form. Could be value.
IFFRAGAL (1) - Returned nicely 14 days ago finishing off well behind Red Symphony in a Class 4 Premier race over 1200m. There was a strong speed upfront, so she was entitled to run on but the effort was pleasing and she is proven on the Polytrack. Can win.
HOWL (3) - Had no luck last start, would pay to forgive and forget about that run. He's a fit racehorse and can be competitive again. Worth including.
SUPER DENMAN (7) - Is racing well. Has not been beaten more than 2.6 lengths in his past five starts and with any luck from the tricky barrier (10) he can run well here. Worth some thought.
RACE 4
IRVING LIPSCHITZ (12) - Performed impressively on debut in Singapore when narrowly beaten. Appears well suited stepping up in trip and is well suited by the lightweight. Will take beating.
ORDOS LEGEND (1) - Steps back marginally in trip after being narrowly defeated last time out. Switches to the Polytrack which is some concern but he is in good form and is worth considering.
SHANGANI (10) - Has been racing well without winning. Gets in with a lightweight and that will be further enhanced by the claim of Simon Kok Wei Hoong. Capable of major improvement.
MILITARY CHAIRMAN (2) - Was shuffled back last start but still found the line well. Looks well suited stepping up in trip and his trackwork leading into this affair indicates a sound performance.
RACE 5
SUPERSONICSURPRISE (4) - Looks well placed to win again here following dominant Class 5 victory when back in grade. This Kranji D doesn't look too strong and if he can race on the speed again here, he's going to prove hard to beat.
INVINCIBLE MAN (8) - Looks an improver here back to Kranji D. His recent runs have been in Class 4 Non Premier grade and did run a creditable second to The Golden Goat two starts back. Respecting.
HERO STAR (6) - Has been running well recently and should be included. Olivier Placais goes on from barrier 4 and in this type of race, he should be effective.
DAYUAN (1) - Absolutely bolted in last start winning a Class 5 by 5.3L. This is a stronger race but the way he won that he has to be considered again.
RACE 6
LET'S TALK NOW (1) - Experienced campaigner who is well credentialled for this affair. Finds a suitable assignment from the inside draw and will appreciate Vlad Duric taking the ride. Expect bold showing.
BOHEMIAN (7) - Disappointed last start over a longer journey but form prior to that run was sound. Well suited by the lightweight and is capable of contending on best efforts.
QUEEN OF QUEENS (9) - Has been tending to mix form in recent times but finds a more suitable assignment here. Aided by the lightweight and must be considered on best credentials.
MILLION ROUND (2) - Experienced campaigner who is a seven-time winner. Has been struggling to perform in recent times but will find this assignment significantly easier. Major player.
RACE 7
JUSTICE FAIR (1) - Improved sharply second-up from a long break. Will strip fitter yet again and finds a suitable assignment with Vlad Duric taking the ride from the good draw. Expect bold showing.
LUCKY TIGER (6) - On-pace type who performed fairly last start. Will take benefit from most recent run and is certainly a runner of interest switching to the Polytrack. Major player.
ACROSS THE SEA (2) - Hard to knock on recent efforts. Steps up sharply in journey for this assignment but that certainly isn't uncommon from this yard. Worth thought with a repeat dose of latest efforts.
SPORTSCASTER (3) - Yet to figure in three runs to date in Singapore but will find this assignment significantly easier. Tries the Polytrack surface for the first time and steps up in trip. Don't ignore.
RACE 8
LIM'S PERSHING (4) - Has been struggling to recapture his best form in recent times but finds a suitable task. Won a recent trial and is certainly worth thought on best credentials. Commands respect.
PACIFIC OCEAN (2) - Has been racing well in recent times without winning. Well suited over the track/distance and will take benefit from the good draw. Capable of figuring on best efforts.
TUN O'REILLY (3) - Performed well over the journey last time out and now switches to the Polytrack surface. Well drawn to sit closer to the speed and must be considered yet again. Major player.
DREAMER LEGEND (8) - Has been unlucky not to win in recent outings. Appears well suited rising in trip and will appreciate getting the services of the leading rider in Vlad Duric. Winning chance.
RACE 9
MR EXCHEQUER (3) - Is a talented horse second-up from a spell here for Shane Baertschiger. Last preparation he ran in two Group 1's, so it's obvious the stable has a decent opinion of this horse. His first-up run was nice and he will appreciate getting out to the mile.
LETITGO (7) - Didn't have a lot of luck in his last run when finishing down the track behind Lionrocksprit (has won again since). Prior to that he was second to King Louis in the Group 3 El Dorado Classic. Improver.
HERMANO MENOR (1) - Stepped up to the mile last time on a wet track and went far too hard out in front. He may still be a slight query at this distance but if able to relax a bit better here he can improve. Smart enough horse when right.
REFRESH (6) - Has been in great form recently winning three of his past five starts. He is a funny horse but the stable seemed to have worked him out. Don't be put off by the fact he was beaten a long way in a recent trial, this is not unusual.
RACE 10
MADE IN RUSSIA (2) - Won impressively on debut in Singapore before finishing fourth last time out. Will strip fitter with the recent trial leading into this affair and looks incredibly hard to beat. Respect.
CHOCANTE (3) - Won well last time out. Finds another suitable assignment remaining over the journey and must be respected with a repeat dose. Expect bold showing yet again and can certainly fight out the finish.
NIMBLE (6) - Won well on debut in Singapore. Rises in grade but is hard to knock on what he has shown so far. Had a recent trial to have him primed for this affair and is certainly worth thought.
LIM'S MIGHTY (10) - Performed poorly last time out but his form prior from overseas reads well for a race of this nature. Capable of making amends and must be considered.
RACE 11
HELIOSPHERE (2) - Brings some strong form to Singapore from Australia. His record there was five starts for 1-1-2 and he could not have been any more impressive in two trials since joining Lee Freedman's yard. Looks too classy for these.
WECANDO (7) - Is first-up here. Liked the way this horse is trialling leading into this race and he did show promise last preparation. Looks capable of running well.
MONTAIGNE (4) - Ran a nice second behind Longhu over this track and distance last start. Would expect another nice run from this horse.
BORN TO BE KING (1) - Got back in the field last time and was wide. Suited back onto the Polytrack and is an improver, can run into the placings.
