Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays at Australian TAB meetings for July 23.
Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Taree, Warren, Warrnambool, and Rockhampton.
TAREE: RACE 5 @ 3:25 PM
SHE'S GOT TEETH (7) racing in career best form and looks placed to advantage today fifth-up. Up to the mile for the first time when a sound third over 1600m at Tamworth on June 28. This is easier and will take holding out. HE'S A COPY BOY (1) raced without luck in town in Highway company before attacking the line late when a narrow second over 1610m at Grafton in BM66 company on July 14. No surprise to see him go one better with the 4kg claim. BANDOLERO (10) best performance in some time when back in grade for a tenacious long neck second over 1700m at Gundagai on June 29. Can take a hand in the finish. ROSSY'S TYPA GIRL (3) raced much closer to the speed and back in class when a fighting second over this track and trip on July 13. A repeat of latest will see her play a leading role.

WARREN: RACE 1 @ 3:15 AM
ON THE CHARGE (4) returned from a six-month spell as $1.80 favourite last start but found one better over this distance at Tamworth. Speedy customer who gets a tongue tie on today which may be significant. Looks the testing material. OUR WARHORSE (7) has put together a sequence of three minor placings, the latest over this trip at Muswellbrook. On-pacer who is getting better with racing and can easily take this out. FIREFINCH (5) was s shade disappointing when third as even-money favourite over 950m at Cowra last time out. In the mix again. PARACLETE (8) has failed to fire in two runs this prep but it is worth noting her only placing came when third-up so she can improve. I'M INDEPENDENT (6) is struggling but gets some weight relief today so might be one for the wider exotics.
SELECTIONS: Keen to be with On The Charge.
WARRNAMBOOL: RACE 6 @ 3:30 PM
TI TREE LAD (6) won here three back over this distance and has raced in 64s the two starts since. Missed narrowly at Ballarat last time and that more than stacks up. Maps well and John Allen sticks aboard. The one to beat. MERE MORSEL (3) comes out of the same race beaten 2.3L as a $3 favourite. Third-up now and he can use the inside barrier. Rates well and can threaten. UNDER THE PALAIS (11) has an outside gate but gets in well with the 3kg claim. Good enough but has been racing shy of her peaks. Has to be considered. SAMURAI STAR (2) resumes in easier grade with a handy 2kg claim. May need one but his best would see him competitive.

ROCKHAMPTON: RACE 2 @ 1:42 PM
SCRUB CHAIN (2) is knocking on the door of a maiden victory placing at his past couple and this is not an overly strong affair. Placed over this track and trip and rates the testing material against this lot. FRASER'S RIDGE (4) has hit the top-five at his past four outings and will be rock-hard fit for this. Looms as the main danger. OFFANGO (5) has placed over this distance range and gets Wiggins back in the saddle. Top-three conveyance. LITTLE PINKER (9) was a touch disappointing last time out but go on the solid second at Mackay on debut. Worth another chance. DALT JAZ (7) rounds out the selections in a race with only a handful of chances.
SELECTIONS: Scrub Chain to shed the maiden tag.
