Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Scone, Moruya, Pakenham, Warwick and Naracoorte.

SCONE: RACE 1 @ 12:50 PM

FORREST GUMP (7) finds his right race today third-up. Went out hard before being collared late when third at Kembla Grange over 1400m on August 17. Trip suits and will prove hard to catch in this easier contest. HOOLIGAN TOMMY (1) beaten for early speed and warmed up late when fifth over 1400m at Kembla Grange on August 17. Can race closer today out to the 1600m. Genuine contender with the blinkers added. SHEBRINGS BEAUTY (5) started favourite when surging late for a gritty third over 1400m at Nowra on August 12. No excuses today with the claim. Value runner. KIA ORA GOLD (2) improving gelding who shouldn't be a maiden for long. Nice return when sitting on the pace for a nose second over the 1600m at Newcastle on August 15. Stays in the calculations.
SELECTIONS: Forrest Gump to win.

MORUYA: RACE 8 @ 4:50 PM

THOUGHTFUL (2) is another decent hope from the Matt Dale yard. He belted the Goulburn Maidens by 2.8L on debut and then just missed here at this level also over 1200m. He has to push forward from a wide gate but he keeps the form hoop. Briefly freshened and is the one to beat. More even the remainder. BREAKAWAY WEEK (8) resumes and has switched from the Dryden yard. She maps well and is proven fresh. Has ability and the betting will be key. PERUNO (7) and DAICOS (16) both went close here 12 days ago and must be considered on those efforts. RONNY ROCK ART (3) is knocking on the door. Gets in well with the 3kg claim but the gate is awkward.
SELECTIONS: Backing Thoughtful.

PAKENHAM SYNTHETIC: RACE 1 @ 4:45 PM

AVENUES (1) looks nicely placed in this at his fourth race start. He's made good improvement at his past couple at this track and distance, beaten just a long neck as favourite last time out. Open to further improvement and should go close. SUNNY TIMES (7) has also placed at his past two at this track and trip. He was close up behind Avenues when they met two back and will take catching. WET 'N' DRY (9) can mix his form but was very good at Ballarat Synthetic two back and a repeat of that would go close. TORBELO (8) is lightly raced and has placed at his past two. Should be fighting out the finish. JAPANESE WHISPER (13) can improve.
SELECTIONS: Avenues to win.

WARWICK: RACE 7 @ 4:02 PM

TOBA (12) impressed with a second at Gatton and then returned and delivered the 58 racing handier. He ran a short-priced favourite in both and drawn nicely he can go back-to-back. SUPER DUCK (2) won on the same day in stronger class bet into a short quote. Keeps the handy 2kg claim and he will ride the speed from an inside barrier. Go close. MR WANDJI (3) led and won the 62 at Ipswich by 4L finding his best. Has a 2kg claim and is fast enough to clear the tricky barrier. Go well again. ROMAN HEIR (13) is also a last-start winner and he maps well. Stanley stays aboard and that's a positive.
SELECTIONS: Backing Toba.

NARACOORTE: RACE 1 @ 1:50 PM

KING WALDO (4) has improved with each run under his belt in his first preparation for the Kearney stable. Expect him to be peaking now and give a very bold sight. THE MARINER (6) finds the maiden win elusive but has shown some positive. Looks to have struck one of his easiest assignments and is drawn to advantage. Key player. MUMMSIE (11) was sound on debut at Mt Gambier when battling on into the minors. Improvement to come. NOT TO BE TRUSTED (9) has warmed to her task late in her first two starts. Strips fitter and is drawn better. Can feature.
SELECTIONS: King Waldo to win.
