3 minute read

Strong fields are engaged across the card and perfect conditions are expected in the southwest.

You can watch all the action live and free on 7Plus and Racing WA

Race 1: VINIDEX MAIDEN (1000m)

MONEY TREES (4) won two Lark Hill trials and pushed forward when beaten 2.5L here on debut. Maps for the run of the race and fitter will prove hard to roll. LE BEAU (3) resumes and went close here three-back on debut. He owns a Lark Hill trial win and CJP is a positive jockey booking. He can get back on track. ROYAL ESCORT (1) had one run last preparation and resumes today with a sharp trial under the belt. He's shown enough and the low gate and Chris Parnham's booking advantage. SANTANOVA (11) jumps from the inside gate on debut. His recent trials are good enough to have him in the mix.

Race 2: PHILMAC MAIDEN (1400m)

REDBACK FLYER (9) was only beaten 2.3L here on debut and it was a tough effort. He draws awkwardly again but keeps Chris Parnham and fitter he will go close. ICANDOIT ONMYOWN (12) peaks off two placed efforts here. Sits down in the weights and rates a decent chance. KAMAKAZI SHOOTER (2) got busy late placing here first-up and the longer sprint suits. Maps well and will get every chance. MAIN ACT (8) found a place here last time and that stacks up. He may sit closer with the first-time blinkers applied. In the mix.

Race 3: ORANGE PUMPS MAIDEN (1200m)

GREAT EDITION (1) led and was back to his best narrowly beaten at Belmont. That's good form and he will present at peak. He sets a good standard. MANGIFERA (10) debuts and looked sharp winning a recent Belmont trial. Chris Parnham's booking suggests she's pleasing and a bold run is likely. LAVISH CHARM (3) trialled nicely and was beaten 3.4L here on debut. He maps well and has been kept on the fresh side. He can't be ruled out. SCARY MARY (6) resumed at Narrogin improved and will push forward. She will be around the mark.

Race 4: HUNTER INDUSTRIES MAIDEN (1200m)

BLUE PEPPER (12) had been well-trialled and went close here on debut. He's in the top barn and is sure to keep improving. She draws wide but CJP sticks and that offsets to a degree. DUG ANOTHER HOLE (3) resumes her in good order and has more to give. Chris Parnham is a key jockey switch and fitter he's a threat. EXTRA ZERO (9) was heavily bet placing at Narrogin in a return to form. He can get some of the money with average luck in the run. REPEATER (2) was better lat time and may be the best of the rest.

Race 5: GRUNDFOS PUMPS HANDICAP (1200m)

UNIVERSAL HOTNESS (1) led and won here first-up and then came back and just missed in stronger than this. He will race forward and despite coming back 200m is a decent chance to bounce. SIRIUS STORM (3) resumed here with a solid effort and has more up the sleeve. Maps for the run of the race and should go close. DUKE OF WELLINGTON (4) is knocking on the door. He's in the mix again. LIPSTICK JUNGLE (7) was much too good for the Narrogin Maidens on debut. This is a step-up but she's fitter and can't be ruled out.

Race 6: DAVEY WATER PRODUCTS HANDICAP (1400m)

Williams-trained PROCESSIO (8) went close x2 at Ascot before a plain effort at Belmont starting a short-priced favourite. Forgiving her that and CJP takes over today and has the first-time blinkers applied. He'll be looking to use the inside gate to advantage. FULL OF MERIT (1) led and was a big winner in a decent race at Kalgoorlie before succumbing late beaten 1.9L at Ascot in stronger than this. Uses and is a decent chance to bounce. PLAYING QUEST (7) resumed this track/trip with a solid effort and was tried in Stakes grade over 2000m before the break. He is proven second-up and Chris Parnham sticking aboard is a positive. Look for him late. SIDE SHOW (4) has switched from a Sydney yard on a 57-day return. He's trialled x2 and has raced okay in better company. The betting will be key.

Race 7: THINK WATER BUNBURY HANDICAP (2025)

Competitive. CANDLELIGHT SHERIF (1) improved again beaten 1.3L at Belmont in stronger and CJP is reunited. The gate is awkward but he can take this out with average luck in the run. JIDDO (2) disappointed at Pinjarra but led narrowly beaten here prior over a mile. Has a small claim his record over this strip is strong. Peaks and is on a 7-day return. ALMAYA (4) has been around the mark and steps up from the mile. He was heavily bet at Geraldton last time and maps for a soft run. He's a chance on an open race. BLAISZEN CAZAH (6) went close at Belmont and was a comfortable victor at Narrogin following. Worth a look. COMEALILBITCLOSER (7) has been around the mark and looks better suited today. Has been kept on the fresh side and is also in the mix.

Race 8: RIVULIS HANDICAP (1695m)

IDYLLIC RULER (3) deserved the heavily bet win here and then settled further back and wasn't beaten too far at Belmont following. CANGGU (4) found the latest at Pinjarra a bit tough but just missed here prior in a CL5. He will push forward and with CJP taking over is a chance. CATCH THESE HANDS (2) has been racing well enough sat Albany. Peaks and 3x winning rider McGruddy is reunited. He should go well. WOZZECK (5) has been knocking on the door and is also good enough. He draws for a soft run and should get every chance. DELTA ANNE (6) also deserves consideration.
