Listed Fairetha Stakes, November 9 - Ascot

3 minute read

Saint Bro proved too good in the Fairetha Stakes in the west.

Saint Bro has now raced twice for as many wins, stepping up to Listed class after winning on debut at this track on 30 October.

He raced a bit keenly outside the leader Super Eighty Eight due to the slow tempo (first 800m 49.12). He went to the front at the 200m and kicked back strongly when challenged to win well by just under a length.

Petrol Power ($3.20 fav) was sixth between runners before pushing out into the clear rounding the home turn. He challenged at the 200m and then kept battling on well to finish second, finding the winner a little too strong in the closing stages.

Moonsearch was handily placed most of the way, but was forced to travel three wide without cover. He put in a good run to challenge at the 200m and held on well for third, after a difficult trip.
