Jazz Song notched a deserved win in the Gai Waterhouse Classic at Ipswich.
Jazz Song began well then eased to enjoy a good trip in fourth place, following a solid pace.
She moved up nicely (wide out) approaching the turn, challenged strongly at the 150m and despite hanging in a bit, proved superior and finished too well to win by a long neck at the post. It was a smart effort.
Griante led and was pressured in stages, she then stuck grimly to her lead in the straight, only being overhauled nearing the post for a gutsy second.
Breakfast In Bed was sixth between runners, fanned wide and got into clear running on turning for home and then finished quite nicely for a sound third.
