Hampton Court wins 2014 Tab Betting Dulcify Qlty Listed $100,000 at Randwick (NSW) 3yo, 1600m.
Hampton Court led in the early stages before easing to track the new leader Duccio, who set quite a good pace (first 1000m 59.64). He got into the clear at the 200m, took a moment to wind-up and then finished too well to score nicely by three quarters of a length. Duccio soon crossed to take the lead and looked like winning when he grabbed a break at the 200m but was overhauled from the 50m and then battled on for a sound second.
Bachman was second last in the small seven-horse field to the 600m. He moved up nicely on straightening and kept running on quite well under his top weight (59kg) for good third, looking suited to further.
Lady Macan was last to the turn and made up ground for an encouraging (3.5 lengths) fourth, stepping up significantly in class. Thunder Lady also ran on quite soundly to take (3.6 lengths) fifth.
