Former Victorian-trained mare Tycoon Tara resumed for new trainers Peter and Paul Snowden to score a good win. She soon crossed to take the lead and then set a reasonable tempo on the Heavy10 track (first 600m 37.52). She held a nice break at the 200m and then kept fighting back gamely to score well.

Rebel Dane raced in second place, moved up outside the leader from the 600m, challenged at the 200m and kept fighting well for a sound first-up second, just finding the winner a bit too good in the conditions.

Mount Nebo raced in third spot (a bit wide), moved up rounding the home turn and kept fighting on to take the minor placing.

Wouldnt It Be Nice was last in the five-horse field, got a split at the 300m and kept battling on for (2.8 lengths) fourth.

Big Money was fourth on the rails, got along the inner on turning for home to challenge at the 200m but struggled in the heavy conditions from that point to finish (3.1 lengths) last.
