Perfect Reflection wins 2016 Ted Van Heemst Stakes Group 2 $250,000 at Ascot (WA) 3yo+, 2100m.

Another great result for leading owner-breeder Bob Peters with his Group One-winning mare Perfect Reflection taking out her fourth Group race in 12 starts in exciting circumstances. She settled back in a distant eighth place, many lengths away from the tearaway leader (Fathoms Of Gold). She got along the rails at the home turn but was still conceding the leader about 12 lengths, before storming home late to grab a great win at the post after appearing to be facing a seemingly impossible task.

Fathoms Of Gold went to the front, increased his lead in the midstages setting up at least a 15 length advantage over the field. He still led by eight lengths halfway down the straight, only to be overtaken coming to the post to finish second.

Ihtsahymn chased the tearaway leader to the home turn and did well in fighting on gamely for third.
