Observational wins 2017 Le Pine Funerals Easter Cup Group 3 $150,000 at Caulfield (VIC), 2000m.

Observational followed up his last start Bendigo Golden Mile, (Listed, 1600m) win with another fine effort here. He crossed over from barrier nine but drifted to be worse than midfield when they settled. Down the side he was three wide but hunting forward and was only six lengths from the lead at the 600m. Forced five wide when the field fanned for the run home he was travelling well and grabbed the lead at the 200m, then ran clear to win by more than a length.

Second Bullet was fourth last at the 600m, tracked the winner around the last corner, was deeper out in the run home, then ran on best of the rest but did not look like catching the winner.

Double Bluff and High Church were equal last at the 800m, turned in eight and nine wide and both ran on strongly to grab third and fourth when the race was all over.
