Morphettville Parks Races Review on 8th June 2024

A good tight finish by the two-year-old Artillery saw the Jessica Eaton ridden gelding take out the 1250 metre opening event on the Parks circuit on Saturday.

Coming out of the Murray Bridge stable of Michael Hickmott Artillery  raced one off the pace to record his first win at his second start.

Horseman Michael Hickmott brought up a two-state treble within an hour when Lakes Folly won the 2050 metre second race.

Ridden by star apprentice Rochelle Milnes Lakes Folly came from well back and put in a strong run over the concluding stages.

The Hayes brothers Ben, Will and JD brought up a two-state double within minutes when Master Montaro won the 1250 metre third race.

Having the services of Jake Toeroek master Montaro led all the way to bring up his seventh win from thirty-eight starts.

Apprentice Rochelle Milnes brought up her second winner for the day when she guided Brave Star to a win in the 1450 metre fourth race.

Coming out of the Morphettville stable of Phillip Stokes Brave Star, who was resuming after a spell, was seen running on from a worse than midfield position to record a strong win.

Merchant Boss showed plenty of strength when he gave Jacob Opperman a win in the 1550 metre fifth race.

Prepared by Travis Doudle Merchant Boss came from a midfield position to take the event.

The Murray Bridge training combination of Daniel Clarken and Oopy MacGillivray were well pleased with the win of Hot Off in the 1300 metre sixth race.

Adding to the list of young riders to meet with success Margaret Collett put Hot Off into a good position to bring up the gelding's second successive win.

Fresh from taking part in The Big Freeze at Adelaide Oval last Thursday night jockey Kayla Crowther guided Sweet Baby Boom to a win in the 1250 metre seventh event.

Coming out of the Will Clarken and Niki O'Shea stable at Sellicks Hill Sweet Baby Boom held down a good position.

Heavy weight jockey Campbell Rawiller made a triumphant return to Adelaide racing when his mount El Salto won the 1000 metre eighth race.

Being under the care of Garet Lynch at Murray Bridge, Rawiller brought El Salto along the rails to record the win.

Apprentice Rachelle Milnes finished the day as the top rider at Morphettville when Morris Minor presented her with a treble in the 1300 metre final event.

Trained by Craig Curtis and progressing from provincial racing Morris Minor was given a rails hugging run.
