Early Mail from Chris Scholtz for Rosehill and Blackbook Update for August 17.
ROSEHILL SATURDAY
RACE 1: (6) PEEPING: Former champion jockey Ron Quinton has been rolling out winners from his Randwick stable at a great rate in recent weeks and the run can continue with this quality mare. Out of a place just once in seven starts, she is already a stakes winner of her only start over this course and distance and is primed to add to that record off an excellent second in a recent trial. She is ideally placed on the limit weight in this small field as she gets between 2kg and 4.5kg from her rivals.RACE 3: (6) COUNTRYMAN: Easily ran away from his rivals for a dominant win over 1300m at this course on August 1 when having only his second run back from spell and can repeat with 2kg less weight to counter a rise from BM90 conditions to open company. Extra 100m is no concern as he can easily take control of this race in a field devoid of pace.
RACE 7: (10) HIS MAJESTY: Very progressive late maturing import, just like his older brother Puissance De Lune. He has been patiently handled by his trainer Kim Waugh to win twice at the provincials since joining her stable from the UK, the latest when he unleashed a powerful burst in the last 200m to win eased down by three lengths at Gosford. Imposing grey set to progress quickly through the classes this campaign as he holds obvious scope for improvement.BLACKBOOK UPDATE
Selected horses from August 8 (Randwick/Flemington)WINE TALES: Solid return in an unsuitable race.
SLIVOVITZ: Tough run will have him ready to peak.PICO TURQUINO: Progressive type. Suited midweek.
SIR BERUS: Warmed up late. Expect improvement in coming starts.RAINBOW STORM: Eye catching finish from last.
