RACE 5 (4) ALLAPERCANTO: Genuine mare has a timely gear change with blinkers applied for the first time after she just missed in a tight finish over 1600m at this course on December 14. She's set to peak at her fourth run since a break with the drop back to 1400m a favourable scenario from a soft draw.
RACE 7 (7) DISNECK: Talented 4YO is lining up for his third successive win over 1200m at Randwick and it's no surprise to see him butter up for his second start in seven days after his classy win last Saturday when he sprinted home from last, posting a closing 600m sectional (33.79) that was four lengths faster than his opposition. He did it so easily that he was throttled down over the last 50 metres - if he holds that form he should be winning again with 2kg less.
RACE 10 (13) PIGGYBACK: This lightly raced mare was heavily backed when resuming over 1400m at Warwick Farm but hit a flat spot under 58kg and was tightened for room late. Expecting good improvement second up as she showed her liking for Randwick with a win here last season and will appreciate dropping 4kg with winkers back on.

TRIAL POINTERS
ROSEHILL December 23: Some smart interstate runners from the Hayes stable added interest to this session. Their sharp sprinting filly BOLD BASTILLE showed her class to win the fastest 900m heat of the morning (53.77; 34.05), running freely past the leader Amazing Eagle over the last 200m for a soft win by almost three lengths. Her stablemate Stoli Bolli won another 900m heat in slow time (55.83; 35.12). Unraced 2YO RIVELLINO has upside off his strong win in his 900m heat (55.06; (35.17). In a deep 900m heat (54.47; 34.31) COSMONOVA impressed with quality work over the last 200m for a strong fourth.
WARWICK FARM December 19: Dundeel filly IDLE FLYER was a maiden winner late last season and is set to progress after a strong win in her 785m heat in good time (45.87; 33.01). Tracked three wide under a hold before letting down from the turn with impressive work over the last 200m.
HAWKESBURY December 16: A touch of class with Golden Slipper winner LADY OF CAMELOT trialling strongly. Her impressive work to win the fastest 800m trial (46.12; 32.22) was a strong prep for her tilt at a new $3 million race at the Gold Coast. Cruised behind the leader before gaining the upper hand over the last 200m and doing all that was required to win the trial with plenty in reserve.
NEWCASTLE December 12: The Kris Lees-trained POWER OF THE BRAVE was a slick winner of the fastest 950m trial (53.51; 34.40).
RANDWICK December 9: The open heats saw strong work from numerous runners having easy workouts. Among the eye catchers were BUNDEENA and WITH YOUR BLESSING.
NEWCASTLE July 18: Quality youngster SPYWIRE showed his natural pace to breeze through his 920m trial for a soft win (54.46; 35.38). Not raced since due to a setback.
