Deep Impact records his 56th Group 1 winner and So You Think sires a stakes double
New Group 1 winners
56 for Deep Impact
The late Deep Impact (Sunday Silence) sired Group 1 winner number 56 on Saturday when the Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-trained Glint Of Hope (3 f ex Sacred Sight by Fastnet Rock) won the Australasian Oaks (Gr 1, 2000m) at Morphettville. Starting at 12-1, Glint Of Hope beat Barb Raider (Rebel Raider) by a head when recording her second career victory. The filly was a $250,000 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale purchase by Asrun from the draft of Bhima Thoroughbreds in 2020. Deep Impact deied at the age of 17 in July 2019.

New stakes winners
14 for Charm Spirit
Kirwan's Lane (5 g ex Galway by Savabeel) came out on top in Saturday's Hawkesbury Gold Cup (Gr 3, 1600m), becoming stakes winner number 14 for Charm Spirit. Kirwan's Lane was bought by his trainer John O'Shea for $170,000 at Book 1 of the 2018 NZB Karaka Yearling Sale from the draft of Little Avondale Stud and on Saturday he beat European import Hopeful (Motivator) by a length. Charm Spirit formerly shuttled to Windsor Park Stud and he is now based at Haras du Logis Saint Germain in France where his fee is advertised at €5,000.

Three for Real Impact
Count De Rupee (4 g ex Timeless Choice by Redoute's Choice) became the third stakes winner for Real Impact (Deep Impact) when he won Saturday's Victory Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) at Eagle Farm. The gelding, a $145,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase by Robert Price from the draft of Arrowfield Stud, denied Scallopini (Snitzel) by a head, taking his record to seven wins and eight placings in nine career starts. Real Impact shuttled to Arrowfield for three seasons between 2016 and 2018.

121 for Snitzel
Arrowfield Stud's Snitzel (Redoute's Choice) sired his 121st stakes winner when the Bjorn Baker-trained Exotic Ruby (6 m ex Oriental Ruby by Street Cry) won the Hawkesbury Crown (Gr 3, 1300m). Under Rachel King, Exotic Ruby scored by a neck from Pippali (Ilovethiscity), recording her fifth career victory. Bought by Joe Pride for $260,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in 2017, Excotic Ruby is catalogued as Lot 721 for the forthcoming Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.
Snitzel enjoyed a stakes double on the card with Mr Mozart winning the Hawkesbury Guineas (Gr 3, 1400m) the race prior. The son of Redoute's Choice (Danehill) has sired 16 individual stakes winners in Australia this season and Arrowfield announced that his 2022 fee would return to its pre-Covid level of $220,000 (inc GST).

Stakes double for So You Think
The remarkable season of Coolmore Australia's So You Think (High Chaparral) continued at Sandown Hillside on Saturday with Regardsmaree (5 g ex Rossa Mia by Testa Rossa) winning the Anniversary Vase (Listed, 1400m) by a half length from Buffalo River (Noble Mission). Regardsmaree was bought for $70,000 at the 2018 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale from the draft of Hillside Thoroughbreds and she has now won eight of her 27 career starts earning over $650,000. Regardsmaree was one of two new stakes winners on the day for So You Think with Illation (3 c ex Pontiana by Redoute's Choice) remaining unbeaten when he won the HC Nitschke Stakes (Listed, 1400m) at Morphettville. A winner on debut on April 14, Illation scored an impressive three and three quarter length victory over Defining (Not A Single Doubt).

The stakes double took So You Think's tally to 40 stakes winners and the son of High Chaparral (Sadler's Wells) has now sired nine individual stakes winners this season with Think It Over his top earner. So You Think currently heads the leading sires table in Australia by earnings, just over $399,000 ahead of nearest rival I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit). He will stand for a career high fee of $93,500 (inc GST) this season.

Two for Tarzino
Tarzino (Tavistock) sired his second stakes winner when Jungle Magnate (3 g ex The Love Of Money by Casino Prince) won the Chairman's Stakes (Gr 3, 2000m) at Morphettville on Saturday. Stakes placed previously, Jungle Magnate, a NZ$75,000 Karaka Book 1 purchase by Mick Price Racing and Breeding when offered by Westbury Stud, scored a three quarter length victory over Harleymoven (Foxwedge). Tarzino is based at Gerry Harvey's Westbury Stud with his 2022 fee yet to be announced.

47 for Written Tycoon
Yulong Stud's Written Tycoon (Iglesia) recorded his 47th stakes winner when the Chris Waller-trained Tycoonist (4 g ex Doubtfilly by Not A Single Doubt) won the Gold Rush (Listed, 1100m) at Hawkesbury on Saturday. Tycoonist was bought by Jadeskye Racing and Brad Widdup for $750,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale in 2019 when offered by Newhaven Park. On Saturday, he beat favourite Malkovich (Choisir) by a neck, with Surreal Step (Sidestep) third. Crowned Australian champion sire last season, Written Tycoon is currently sitting sixth in the leading sires table by earnings.
