Irish Oaks winner becomes third highest-priced lot ever at Tattersalls Sale.
The $3.7 million that Yulong paid for Caught U Looking on Day 1 at the Tattersalls December Mares' Sale was dwarfed on the second day when one of her rivals sold for more than 2-1/2 times that amount.
Amo Racing went to 4,800,000 guineas, the equivalent of AU$9,850,000, for You Got To Me in what was the third-highest price ever paid for a filly or mare at the December Mares' Sale.
The daughter of Nathaniel has had eight starts for three wins, the most of recent of which came in the Group 1 Irish Oaks (2414m) in which Caught U Looking finished fifth.
Kia Joorabchian of Amo Racing said his relationship with Ralph Beckett, who trains You Got To Me, gave him confidence to bid so aggressively and said the filly will be given the chance to recoup some of her purchase price on the racetrack as a four-year-old.
"I know the filly, friends of mine owned it and a trainer of mine, he trains it, so I know a lot about the filly," Joorabchian said.
"We know a lot about the history of her, so it gave us much more comfort."
Two other lots on Day 2 bettered Caught U Looking's session-topping price from Day 1, both being by Mehmas.
John Stewart's Resolute Racing going to 3.2m guineas for French Group 1 winner Vertical Blue, while M V Magnier paid 3m guineas for Group 2 Sapphire Stakes winner Believing.
