John Gosden and William Buick won a second successive St Leger when Masked Marvel proved too good for his rivals at Doncaster.
Sea Moon went off favourite and had a very unlucky passage being blocked more than once, and this
probably was not one of Peslier's greatest rides. He was able to finish off in great style when he finallygot out but it was too late, with Brown Panther running a great race to take second and leaving the fav in
third. Census didn't fire - which may have been due to the faster ground, and Blue Bunting was lookinglike it was one race too many for the brave filly.
There was an upset earlier in the Champagne when Trumpet Major showed his liking for the better ground
to win from Red Duke with hot favourite Etifaadha only third - he may have been disadvantaged in thesmall field as he was left exposed with nothing to chase.
The Park Stakes went to Premio Loco who at 7 is in the form of his life, with Dafeet second and The
Cheka third after having had every chance but seemingly unable to just find the line. But it was Masked Marvel's day and we trust everyone was able to follow the tip.
