MURWILLUMBAH: RACE 4 @ 2:55 PM
Four-year-old PIERRE CARDINNIGAN (2) has only raced twice and shows promise. Just missed on debut over 1260m at Ballina then made up a stack of ground to finish fourth last start over 1350m at Ipswich. Crying out for this trip and on his home track a maiden win awaits. CASSETTE (11) hasn't been beaten all that far at her last three outings, most recently when fifth over 1350m at Ipswich. Ran slower time than Pierre Cardinnigan on the same card but still looks a genuine threat. ABOVEFORTY (3) has tackled three much stronger races this time in work and failed to threaten, most recently at Canterbury over today's trip. Can improve sharply in this company. RIPPINGTON (5) from the Waller camp has done zilch in two runs to date but is one to keep an eye on with blinkers going on. DISCOVER (1) next best in a race with a bit of a tail.
SELECTIONS: Very keen on Pierre Cardinnigan.
As a FREE Racing and Sports offer, below is the Murwillumbah Computer Card.
CANBERRA: RACE 4 @ 4:35 PM
CASH AND CARDS (4) resumes today for a top Sydney stable and has trialled sharply at Randwick. He missed a nose at Newcastle on debut and was spelled after a luckless run in a strong form race at Canterbury. The colt draws to advantage with Collett up and will be naturally improved. WEBEJAMIN (11) resumes and was beaten a nose at Kembla Grange when last seen. She's also trialled well and placed her only fresh outing. JVO rides suggesting she's pleasing. ORACLE OF OMAHA (6) is third-up and can show more for the sharp Neasham-Archibald yard. The longer sprint should suit. SHADDAP (8) debuts and brings trial placings from Hawkesbury and Randwick. Jumps from an insider gate and should be around the mark.
SELECTIONS: Backing Cash And Cards.
CANTERBURY: RACE 4 @ 6:30 AM
Tough race. SOLDIER OF ROME (1) hard fit now and will take catching from the low draw in this weaker race. Pushed forward from a wide draw when a fading eighth over 1800m at Rosehill in BM78 class on November 30. Gets Bourke's 2kg claim and no excuses tonight. OLD GREGG (10) knocking on the door and due for a change of luck. Finished runner-up again over this track and trip in the heavy (8) going on November 29. Maps well and expected to go close. KIRIKAN (8) battled on bravely in the heavy going when a close-up third over this course and distance last time out. Rawiller sticks and gets his chance from the gate. GUZUMPED (3) looking for this trip now after demolishing weaker company when a 2 len winner as fav over 1600m at Wyong on November 23. Poorly drawn but not to be underestimated.
SELECTIONS: Soldier Of Rome to win.
WARREN: RACE 4 @ 8:24 AM
MEGA MISCHIEF (12) debuted five-and-a-half weeks ago when she finished sixth over 1400m at Kembla Grange. She'll find this much easier than her debut effort 38 days ago and she's moved to the Simpkins stable since. From a strong family and can get the job done. HASIME (6) was well fancied last time out but after being in contention on the corner disappointed in finishing sixth over 1400m at Dubbo, beaten 5 lengths. Well placed on this occasion and gets her chance to break the ice. HUTT STREET (3) ran below expectations last time after being in contention on the turn at Wellington, finishing fifth and beaten 2 lengths starting at $4. Won't find this as tough so he is set to turn things around. WOTASTATEMENT (10) is backing up 10 days after she was safely held in sixth over 1100m at Dubbo against better opposition. Worth another chance.
SELECTIONS: Siding with Mega Mischief.
CRANBOURNE: RACE 8 @ 9:26 PM
AKICITA (4) was a leading Caulfield Guineas hope just over a year ago and while issues have conspired to ensure he hasn't reached that level, his talent overrides what we have seen from him this prep. He has raced inside horses both times this prep, though, which his rider suggested he doesn't appreciate so look for him to be kept away from the fence in this. If allowed to wind up, he could blow them away. HERE THE CROWD (8) is from the country's leading stable and been a regular in metro to this point of his career so down in class with the benefit of two runs back from a spell makes him one to respect greatly. THE MARG FACTOR (11) needs to lift but gets in nicely after the claim. TOO VIENNESE (5) tends to mix his form but improved last start to score over 1209m at Yarra Valley.
SELECTIONS: Akicita to win.
GEELONG: RACE 8 @ 5:40 PM
APPARATUS (3) wins this clearly at best and will be better for his first-up outing in stronger at The Heath. He has good support and placed his only second-up start. Draws low and Currie will give him every chance. ABSOLUTE DEEL (2) resumes and brings strong form over a mile. He's proven fresh and is likely to be wound up for this shorter assignment. ALICE DOWNS (6) peaks and will find this easier than The Valley. She was tracking well prior, and a senior rider goes on. In the mix. MEAN FEAT (5) resumes with Kersley sticking aboard. He races forward and will enjoy a dry surface. No surprise if he's wound up this time around.
SELECTIONS: Apparatus appeals most.
MOONEE VALLEY: RACE 2 @ 6:45 PM
ZOURAIN (5) clearly on top here. He's been around the mark in some better maidens than this of late, finding the line well in good splits to grab third at Caulfield Heath over 1500m last time out, beaten just a length. Draws to sit closer here and rates highly. BLACKLIST (1) has placed in strong NSW provincial maidens at his past couple, starting a warm favourite at Hawkesbury last time out when beaten under a length. This suits. MARBASTION (4) hasn't been far away of late, running into second at Yarra Valley last time out. He draws well here and can figure. CHESAPEAKE BABE (6) ran well fresh at Benalla before an even effort when fourth at Seymour in a strongly run, high rating race. She was in the market there and looks a solid each way hope. EIRE TO THE JUNGLE (2) next best.
SELECTIONS: Zourain to win.
SUNSHINE COAST: RACE 2 @ 7:38 PM
BLUE MOVES (8) placed over this course and distance when having her first start for the new stable and is sure to have come on with that local run now under the belt. Strips fitter third-up from the spell and should be going very close to breaking the maiden status here. BEE TWO (5) has been in the mix in both starts this campaign and only needs some luck from the outside draw to play a major role in the outcome. CUTTING EDGE (2) is first-up but has placed two from two when fresh and has tuned up for this with a recent trial. Top-three aspirations. DIVINE SOURCE (6) is at the races for the first time but has shown ability at the trials and is sure to be well-educated from the Munce barn. Keep safe. ABSINTHE CAT (4) rounds out the selections in a race with only a handful of chances.
SELECTIONS: Blue Moves to shed the maiden tag.
TOWNSVILLE: RACE 4 @ 2:02 PM
ULTIMATE (1) is building his fitness with each race and will relish stepping out to a mile for the first time this prep. He was running on strongly when third over 1400m last time out and should go close to getting the job done here. KEEP ON RUNNING (2) posted an overdue maiden win here 3 starts back and after having no luck at Home Hill after that he was only beaten by a head here just over 2 weeks ago. This race is well within reach for him. MOON LIGHTNING (5) has changed stables after losing his way in NSW this season. A change of scenery is all that is required sometimes, and her earlier form would see her be a threat in this. Let the markets guide you. EUROMANTIC (3) is a consistent 6-year-old mare who has not been over-taxed with racing. A good draw will help and another honest effort is on the cards.
SELECTIONS: Ultimate to win.
MORPHETTVILLE: RACE 5 @ 6:34 PM
HOOKED ON WEALTH (1) hasn't had much luck of late but continues to run well. Strikes an easier assignment off a month break and is drawn to advantage for gun hoop Toeroek. The one to beat. LIMBERING (2) has been racing well, adding a deserved win to the tally last start at Gawler. Only has to hold her form to be competitive. MILLIVOY (3) stuck his neck out just at the right time to return a winner in town at the latest. Deserves more respect this time but will need to improve to go close. PRANCE 'N' DANCE (7) progressed nicely second-up when charging home to fill the frame at Clare. Has more to offer third-up and gets a key jockey switch with Nunes taking over. In the mix.
SELECTIONS: Hooked On Wealth best of the day.
